Rivas Taqueria — Restaurant in Wallingford

Do not come to this place !!!! Today I went and it was bad for starters it’s a Monday and tomorrow is a Tuesday which is a day they close so they don’t have much and they buy everything fresh Wednesday .Recommend coming on a Wednesday. Anyways I came in wanted to get a torta with chicken and they didn’t have any chicken so then I asked for some tacos de pastor and they don’t have pastor or Lengua and another meat I forgot . I mean come on what kinda taco place doesn’t have the main meat most people order . Not even to mention they have a meat store right next door can they not get like a pound of the meat or chicken when it runs out ? So then I order a chicken burritos and the chicken was dry they recooked the chicken or something it was hard and dry , no flavor it was horrible. I'm a Mexican girl who grew up in southern Arizona so when I say this is the best taqueria in CT, I mean it's the most authentic, freshest, best value, and most appropriately portioned and priced taqueria in the state (if not the East Coast, but I might be biased). All the food I've ever gotten here has been so good, so worth the price, and made just like I was back home. After getting robbed at other places in New Haven where the tacos are fine but SO overpriced, I feel like I appreciate this place even more. I hate to leave a bad review on a restaurant that had great service and a good atmosphere with A/C but the tacos I got were okay at best. If you are looking for low priced food, this is your place. My issue with the BBQ pork tacos and they were okay but nearly tasteless. Adding the lime juice that comes with the order helped but the meat was also dry and tough and had hardly any taste.
