Did you know that Saint/Pope John Paul II was brought some of Adam’s kielbasa by a customer and the Pope loved it. He said he had not had such great kielbasa in ages.

Did you know that Adam’s Market is such a part of the International Polish community that when the global news stations were interviewing about historical events that happened in the US, relatives of the owners of Adam’s saw them on TV in Poland?

Did you know that the recipe for this delicious kielbasy has not changed since Adam developed it in the 1940s?

What to try:

Kielbasy: Smoked is the classic. They make and smoke it on premises. If you go there on I think a Wednesday you can smell the incredible aroma of the fresh smoking deliciousness.

White/unsmoked Kielbasy This one comes more like a coil of gerthy uncooked sausage. Take this and put it in the broiler. Cook until it gets browned in the middle. Eat it with red and/or white horse radsish and some fresh Banas bread! This is the traditional lunch of the family on Sundays around the super busy holiday season when they would all be working to make the extra huge loads of kielbasy for the extreme demand.

Kabanosy! Thinner, spicier (ie pepper), and more smoked close relative to kielbasy.

Stuffed cabbage!!!!!

Pierogi!!! Comes in a range of flavors. Ruskie and American are the most popular and classic. Cook them on a frying pan with some bacon fat and onions.... The sour kraut ones are lovely. Then during blueberry season there are sometimes blueberry pierogi—cook these and then mix some sour cream with a little of the vanilla sugar that they sell in the baking section. (You can also use the sour cream combo with soma egg noodles and cooked strawberries aka lazanki). 🤗

Home made horse radish

Bread from Banas is my favorite. I can eat it on its own—satisfying as cake—but not sweet. Also Polonia Bakery bread is great too!

Not everyone knows, but they have the Best steak a steak fanatic can ever have. Seriously! Sometimes they might even have some aged steak, but not always. They buy super great quality and so the steak is unrivaled even by the best steak houses of NYC. It is great with soy sauce and cole slaw and Polish Rye Bread as discussed above. Holy moly! Favorite cut is Porterhouse or Sirloin for flavor, but the combo of texture is the filet mignon. The steak is not your grocery store pricing here. It is a top quality meat selling family owned butcher shop and so it will certainly knock your socks off.

Home made cole slaw, potato salad and macaroni salad are a proprietary recipe and just delicious.

Fresh Deli Pickles!!! Traditional style pickles from nice gerthy green goodness. Sour or more virgin flavor with less curing time.

I love the paczki (Polish doughnuts)!

There is always a good selection of Polish and German packaged cookies, chocolates and candies....

During the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter this place is even more nonstop if you could imagine. Lines go around the corner/block. People come from far and wide. People as far as California have been ordering shipments for decades (even before the internet era).

There are so many more things I could say about this special place... Like how incredible it is to watch the senior butchers perform their craft. It is an art form. And you may get lucky to hear some funny jokes too....

Thankfully this place is here for another generation of Krzystiniak family love care and attention.

PS: for the vegetarian folks there are a number of good things to try too. Some of them are above, and then there are so many nice Polish cheeses to try with their home made pickles and mustard (add lettuce and tomato). Or do a swiss cheese with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Adam’s Food Market is my go-to store in Wallington! The deli is always fresh and tasty – my favorite is the Krakowska sausage, which is absolutely delicious. They carry a great variety of Polish grocery products, which is such a treat. I can honesty say that’s the best Polish place to buy meat.

The service is always quick and friendly, and the staff is super helpful. There are plenty of girls working there, so you never have to wait long to be taken care of. You can really find everything you need in one stop....

This place was recommended to me by a friend who's Mom felt they made the best kielbasa. I think she was right! More recently they have added homemade pierogi that are really tasty and save me the trouble of making them. I hope they keep producing their recipes and quality.
