I had the absolute best experience today at Mendocino Farms in Walnut Creek thanks to John C. From the moment my family and I walked in, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. John’s hospitality was outstanding. He treated us with genuine kindness, patience, and care, making sure every detail of our order was perfect.

It wasn’t just about great customer service. John created an atmosphere that felt warm and personal. He checked in on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and took care of my entire family as if we were his own guests. That level of attentiveness and professionalism is rare and truly made our visit memorable.

This was the 2nd day they were open. They have a lot of staff helping. While waiting in line for 20 minutes, an employee welcomed me and asked if I had any questions about the menu. I told him what I was planning to order, and he suggested adding avacado to cool the spice. Good idea. I placed my order with another friendly employee who gave me a free cookie since I waited so long and tried to come yesterday, but the line was out the door. I found a table where I had to scan the table bar code and enter my receipt # so they know where to deliver my food. The seat was interesting. It was fake grass. Had some green juice (very good) and my chicken procutto panini sandwich and small macaroni salad. Second day in a row coming here as their food is great and fresh, reasonable prices. Had pork belly banh mi today with curried couscous and house-made lemonade. Tasty sandwich and definitely has some good heat in the spicy sauce.

My only concern is that it took about 40 mins getting a take-out during lunch time at 11:15. Cashier seems to not have been familiar with the ordering process and taking a long time per customer. Manager was next to the cashier constantly. I asked for utensils but it was not on the to-go check list and of course not in my bag. Would suggest they do more staff/cashier training on their off-hour so they could learn to trouble shoot or go through the menu options slowly. Mistakes made easily when the staff are under pressure.
