The Breakfast Club at Midtown — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

They stood at the door to be rated on at 11:50. I finally got seated at 12:05. There were many tables open. The lady that sent me came around the front of the building through the glass doors and said oh I didn't see you. I was busy outside. And I said well I've been here a while. She gave me a choice of where to sit. I sat down. She gave you my menu and 10 minutes later she still had not come back or anybody else for that matter to offer me water or ask if I wanted coffee I was ready to order. I caught her eye at one point nothing happened so I guess I won't be back. I've been here before and you lost a customer. I have referred people to you. I won't do that anymore. Wall was all I saw at this site. No one came to wait on me! Nope, below that nothing was ordered therefore, I can't rate the food I couldn't dine in or take out both of which I was going to do. Hash browns and eggs Benedict's are terrible. If you like super sweet pancakes stuff, or if you define good food as how much junk they can pile up on your plate, then this place is for you. However, I like crispy shredded hash browns, unfortunately their hash browns are more like soft mashed potatoes than actual hash browns. The second time I asked for crispy hash browns and they brought their mashed potatoes with a paper thin layer of burn on the mashed potatoes. There Eggs Benedict' are not good, it's not capable of being eaten like an eggs Benedict, a tall mound of messy junk piled on top of a thick hard tough piece of bread. Trying to cut through the bread with a knife and fork makes the big pile fall off over the plate, you just have to eat everything separate like a scramble with a piece of tough bread on the side. I was excited so excited to try it out. Took my daughter and her friend for breakfast today and we were all very disappointed. Our waiter was not on top of it at all and the food was not what I expected. I asked for no sour cream and daughter’s friend asked for bacon burger. My food came with sour cream and burger had no bacon. By the time I got food my daughter and her friend were almost finished. Daughters friend ate half the burger before they brought the bacon. He also asked for ranch dressing and finally got it when we were ready to pay. Also never got our sourdough toast. Wait I get brought the toast in a to go container and just said “oh I put your toast in the container to go” 😮. Needless to say the service was awful and the food was not great. My scramble had no flavor and the hollandaise sauce was bland. The French toast was really good. Not sure I would give them a second chance. ...
