40+ years a fan! This is a favorite among locals. Their chicken salad is my go-to, has been since late 80s. I like to order a few and get everything on the side so I can put it together fresh the next day. It's still just as delicious. I used to work just over the railroad tracks up the street on Lemon Avenue at what used to be Walnut Recreation. The entire staff ordered the same thing almost every day. Good times. Many cried when the original owners retired, but the new owners finally got it right and perfected it a while back and it's just as good. My review could have been written by hundreds or thousands of locals, I always see someone I know from way back when. My sister worked with them a long time ago, too. I've moved a little further away and make sure I satisfy my yearnings for Walnut Tree. My brother Dennis loves the pepper beef. My husband loves the wonton soup, which is gorgeous. Seriously, it turns heads whenever I go to pick it up. My problem is I don't get to try everything because I order the same thing! The orange chicken is great, too. Egg rolls are handmade with the freshest ingredients. Seriously, my mouth is watering just writing this, must make a visit soooooon! Thank you Walnut...
Read moreLocal hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant with generous lunch specials. They’re open for takeout and delivery during coronavirus, which was great to know since my mom was craving hot and sour soup. We ordered over the phone and it took only ~15 minutes for the food to be ready. There’s a small parking lot and they do take credit card.
The lunch specials are a really good deal, as they are very generous with the portion size and they have a lot of options. They come with fried or white rice, a veggie egg roll, and a cracker. The salt and pepper pork chop is on the saltier side, and the texture is similar to Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The chicken lo mein was a bit bland but the texture of the noodles was nice and chewy. The cashew chicken was my favorite, and was still good the next day when we had the leftovers. 3 lunch specials and one hot and sour soup came out to be $31 so it’s very friendly...
Read moreMy husband and I ate here recently before attending a concert. I ordered the garlic shrimp and he ordered the sesame chicken. I received my order first and I noticed immediately that the shrimp had a bad smell to it. Trying to remain positive I still took a bite hoping that the smell was related to the combination of the veggies, garlic, and shrimp. Nope! The shrimp's texture was soggy and it completely disintegrated in my mouth immediately. It was at that moment I knew that the shrimp had gone bad, bad and that they were still okay with serving it to customers. No, I did NOT eat anymore bc I knew our night would have been ruined. So we ended up sharing the delicious sesame chicken. My advice DO NOT order any seafood from...
