With my daughter (after just telling her in the car that Del Taco is pretty good as she's never really had it), walked in with a coupon for Buy One/Get One bean & cheese burrito that was given to me from my recent purchase. It was the first thing I gave the cashier. Proceeded to order a bunch other food (nachos, tacos, fries, etc). Came to finalizing the transaction, I was told the coupon was expired. I told the cashier I just got it and this is what got me to come and make a purchase with a bunch of other things. What got me frustrated was the lady, maybe manager, and her pissy attitude of telling me "it's expired!" This .25 cents worth of a bean/cheese burrito to my over $20 order. Immediately walked out due to the corporate greed. Instead of this lady making it a better experience for a customer, it turned into no longer will I be going to Del Taco which used to be one of my favorite "go to." In general food today has gotten more expensive and less are eating out so restaurants should train staffing to create better experiences for customers instead of further driving them out of their restaurant. Went to In N Out instead and spent my money there where I was greeted with a big smile. Thanks (NO THANKS to the lady) Del Taco.
BTW, the last time I purchased when I was given the coupon, the taco shells were STALE. I thought I would try this visit again because in general, it's been good. This time the Staleness...
Read moreWent around 8pm on a weekday to the drivethru. We were greeted quickly and ordered some burritos and tacos. The only delay we experienced was short (2 minutes), as production were making a new batch of fries when we ordered.
Nothing was wrong with the order.
I even typically assume that their specialty burritos will sometimes be made "sideways," as in ingredients being spaced unequally throughout, but did not encounter that this time. Zero complaints, even with a last-second alteration to part of the order.
It is possible that this was simply "right place right time," as having experience in food service has made me aware of how often skeleton crews are employed to handle customer volume that would typically warrant staffing twice or three times the size of allocated labor budget (why would pay more employees when we could simply overwork key staff until they quit in contempt). But I specifically wanted to try this location, as establishments that have gained low ratings pull at my curiosity sometimes.
It's a del...
Read moreWent to Del Taco in walnut the other night around 7pm. Not sure why they took so long to just greet us on the drive thru! We had to to ask if anyone was there. Then as we took our order we had to keep repeating several times what we wanted to the young lady who was taking our order. As we pulled forward we noticed that there was a car in front of us who seemed to be waiting there for a while. As we patiently waited . We noticed that 15 min had gone bye and The gentleman in the car in front of us decided to just drive off. As it became our turn to approach the window. The young girl just stated to us that she's new so it's going to take awhile longer! As we noticed that there were only 4 other young workers there they seemed to be to busy talking among themselves!! Service was terrible!! Won't be going at that location anymore! Landed up spending a total of 25 min. And still wasn't able to receive our food. Not sure how it's there in the morning but would not recommend going there in the evening to...
