On Sunday, 04/28/2024, we held a party for 30 people and were honored to have it catered by Domenics Restaurant in Waltham MA. Most of our guests are from Italy or of Italian descent (1st generation) and know good Italian food. In fact, we rarely order any food outside our circle. If you’re Italian, you know what I mean! Well, this food was described by everyone as excellent. Some of our menu items included gnocchi, stuffed shells, chicken parmigiana, chicken Marsala (w/o pasta), eggplant parmigiana and meatballs. All were cooked to perfection. Also, included as guests were two friends visiting from Italy and they too raved about the quality of the food. They said they felt like they were eating in Italy.
Now, let me tell you about the dessert. We ordered 2 trays of Tiramisu and a ricotta pie. The entire 2 trays and 1/2 the pie were devoured with excellent reviews from all our guests. The desserts were from Enzina bakery (which is part of the Domenic’s Restaurant catering menu).
John, from start to finish you were amazing and always available to answer our questions and provide your seasoned insight. I would give you and your team 10 stars; but, unfortunately are only allowed 5.
Thank you for helping to make our party memorable for all attendees. You will now always be a part of our extended family as we cannot have another large party without...
Read moreI needed to add: the owner responded and instead of acting like a big boy, he said I ate wonder bread sandwiches and needed to travel more. For the record, I'm not even from here. I'm been to every major city in the world. He said his staff were chatting and laughing because they had trainees. I guess the lesson for today was how to provide terrible customer service. No wonder this place sucks: it starts at the top!! Check his other bad reviews. Never an apology, never we'll try harder, just all rude. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. YOU JUST ENCOURAGE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. TO THE OWNER, GROW UP AND TRY ANOTER LINE OF WORK.
Nothing great or special about this place. For a ham and Swiss sandwich is was $15! That's with nothing extra. When we walked in, 3 staff members just standing around chatting with each other. No welcome. No "we'll be right with you". Just completely being ignored. Eventually, they took our order. The one bright spot and the only reason I gave the place 3 stars instead of 2, was the lady who made my sandwich, was very nice and polite, smiled, said thank you. A strange concept forg I then by most places these days and by her co-workers called CUSTOMER SERVICE!! FYI, the sandwich was not all that great. The bread was on the stale side and they certainly did not go overboard on the...
Read moreBe careful, they pre select a tip on the register instead of auto selecting “no tip” and the POS system is too high up on the counter for shorter people to really see - easily pay way more than you intend to with this tactic. My $11 sandwich just cost me $15. Also, the girls in there were super rude.
Edit: yikes at the aggressive owners rude response. The desert counter is too high, and I could barely see the POS system, so despite it not being too high for you personally, it obviously is for others of different heights. Also, I know for a fact you as the owner set up the preselected tip in your POS system, and you chose to have it be preselected at 15% instead of “none” or for the actual customer to select it themselves. If there were no tactics you wouldn’t have the auto select set up. Most businesses that ask for tips don’t auto select because of this reason. Happy to give the workers a tip, and I always do, but I don’t like the tactics.
I come here all the time and after your nasty response I’ll be going...
