Captain Al's Tiki Bar — Restaurant in Wareham

I was served what can only be described as a deep-fried disaster. The "fries" were anything but—shriveled, hollow sticks that tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, burnt and brittle with every bite. The shrimp were even worse: over-fried to a crisp, nearly blackened, dripping with old, bitter grease that clung to your mouth long after. And then, somehow, the onion rings and fish swung to the other extreme—soft, soggy, and disturbingly undercooked. The fish was pale and almost raw in the center, the texture mushy and cold. The entire meal reeked of neglect, like it had been rushed and reheated instead of prepared with care. Paying $56 for something that tasted like it came from the bottom of a grease trap is absolutely insulting. This wasn’t just bad food—it was borderline inedible. I really wanted to like this place. The staff is friendly, the view is great, and that's where the good comments end.

We mistakenly ordered mixed drinks. From what I saw at the bar, the locals love this place because of the strength of the drinks. Our drinks were so strong that I forgot what I ordered because it had no flavor after the burn of the alcohol. So, if you're in your 20s and just want to get drunk, this place is for you!

I was so excited to see swordfish on the menu. I could tell as soon as it was put in front of me that it was over cooked. It was so overcooked that I could have mixed it with mayonnaise and served it on toast as tuna. Years of working in restaurants taught me to NEVER send food back, so I suffered through it. The rice was moist enough to add some moisture to the fish, so it was somewhat edible.

What a great time we had! Easy in and out, first come first serve basis, not a long wait at all. Once seated, had a great experience with our server Michelle, very attentive and on point! Didn't have to wait long at all for drinks or food, even though the place was pretty busy. Food was fresh and delicious! We had some apps and seafood platter. Kuddos to a young gentleman Juzary. He hasn't stop moving for a moment while we were there. He attended to each table multiple times to pick up any extra plates or glasses so the guests can enjoy their food without extra mess at their tables. With this "new normal" everyone has to adjust to, it was a breath of fresh air and big hopes that good service and hospitality will prevail regardless of circumstances! Great job,...
