It shocks me some of the reviews stating this place is too expensive and overpriced. Where are you going to get such a wide selection of craft brews/meads that you're paying less? Honestly, the prices are VERY reasonable and the alcohol content is usually pretty high. I frequent this brewery often and have rarely ever spent over $30. If that's out of control, then you're cheap.
The favorites are usually always available: Dripa, Luhnie Kuhnie, and White Devil. But the menu changes frequently AND they will always let you sample a beer for free. I have never had an issue with this. I've even tried a handful before I make my decision. Yes, you can get a paddle of 5 different beers to try but those are FULL samples. If I'm not sure I'm going to like it, I ask for a simple taste and there is never any issue to get one for free. But I have rarely sampled a beer I didn't like.
They don't really serve food (just sausage, cheese, and crackers) but they have different food trucks (for a great variety) come by often enough for very cheap and good eating. I will typically spend less than $10 on that food and be set. So in all, if I'm really going at it, I'll spend maybe $40 in a night. This is about 5-6 beers (most of these beers are high alcohol content, some people may drink more, some less) AND food/tip. Again, if you're looking for cheap Bud Light, go to BDubs right down the street. Kuhnhenn's is very reasonable for a night out! Very cool atmosphere and...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I are from Chicago. It's always a blast coming here. We make the 6/7 hr drive just for the beer. It's one of our absolute favorites. Besides the beer we love the hospitality from Evelyn. If it weren't for her, seriously, we wouldn't ever come back. Why you ask? Newbies don't remember what we like! Nor do they know what is on the menu and have to ask other people. Oops. Sorry too forward. Anyway, c'mon. We've been coming for the past 10 years, 1/year, and EVERY TIME she remembers what we like and has it ready upon arrival. I let alone can't even remember what I did yesterday. #oldmoney
If you ever come here please ask for Evelyn. You will not be disappointed. She's the bubbliest gal here. There's nothing like the dedicated long timers hospitality compared to the newbies. She is simply the best. (I'm starting to sound like a infomercial, so I'll shut up, lol)
WHOEVER IS THE OWNER OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT, I HOPE YOU READ THIS! GIVE THIS WOMAN A G'DANG RAISE!!! We wouldn't be back if it weren't for her, honestly.
&& Evelyn If you read this we love you so fricken much.

Read moreAs a beer lover, employee since the hardware days, and my family's Auto Haus days; I have been with Kuhnhenn Brewing Co for some time. From the days of a small "cheers" style atmosphere to an insane love of our beer around the world I have been here. The beer is great, the wines fruitful and the mead's made by a master and lover of the trade. Yes the Menu can be inconsistent along with the flavors of the beers and wines, but, remember accessibility to supplies change along with the business of the brewery. So, with great service or not, remember it's your beer or drink that matters. Your attitudes to the staff or vice- versa will or will not make your experience better. We are well known, you never know when we are going to be slammed, but our beers will make everything better.. I Promise!!! Be patient and we will give you love as a staff, and a crew. We are always trying to improve, so any positive encouragement is appreciated. Don't forget you can bring in...
