Nick the owner is a great guy. Many staff have worked a number of years. If there is new staff they train them right. Order coffee, pop or free water, they will give you seconds or even fill a cup for the road or take home. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day plus there are usually specials on a chalkboard. They are very fast in delivering hot food quickly.The portions are large enough to have two meals. Soups or salads are offered on many larger meal. If something isn't on the menu and they have the ingredients they will make it as ordered. If you find you don't like the meal chosen they will offer something that appeals to you more.
I believe that Tuesdays they have $1 coney dogs. They do have delivery services like DoorDash although it's best to come in. They don't hurry people if you are having a meeting or catching up with a friend. The decor was updated just prior to the pandemic.The restaurant has been there for the 30 years I have lived in the area (don't know if it's always been the same owner all that time). You won't go wrong with a local family owned restaurant that serves many food choices.
Usually on weekdays they are open until 9:00 pm, be nice and get there about 20-30 minutes ahead if a larger meal. Also consider getting a to-go order so that staff can get out and go home or perhaps to another job or maybe online school.
On Sundays they are open until 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm to cater to the church crowd. Usually during the summer July or August they might be closed as the family goes to another country to visit relatives and it gives a well deserved break to some of the staff.
This is my go to restaurant when I just want something simple and easy like a soup, salad, coney or other simple food or perhaps a larger meal to share or refrigerate for later. I can't say enough...
Read moreI used to come to this restaurant regularly for lunch since I work so close. After a few bad visits, I decided to stop going. Well after about a year break, I decided to give it a try again today. Ordered a grilled chicken salad, asked them to add feta cheese. They brought me the salad with no feta cheese and when I let them know it was missing, it was no issue and they took it back to the kitchen and brought it back with feta cheese. The reason I stopped going over a year ago was inconsistency with the quality of food… and finding hair on my plates. Well today, there was a hair on my plate, again. I noticed this right after I poured what was supposed to be vinegar on my salad… but it was actually maple syrup. So the owner saw me trying to get a waitresses attention and he came over to me. I explained it, he had them make me another salad. After that, they got it right. They were very apologetic about it, I was nice in return. Just wanted to eat my lunch. As I’m trying to eat, just about every waitress in the restaurant decided to come up to me, ask how everything was , apologize and even was trying to blame other waitresses about the syrup… I got more annoyed that I couldn’t just eat in peace than the damn syrup. After all of that… not even a 10% discount? They even recognized me from before, knowing I was a regular customer. After several chances, I will not be returning. I appreciate them being kind, but it’s just too much trouble...
Read morePurchased a salad. got in the car and took a look and there was a hair in it. Took it back in because i paid $20 & they’re stingy with the ranch so i wanted it re-made. I sat down while they were re-making it & about 2 minutes later they brought it back out. it hadn’t been a whole 5 minutes that it would’ve taken for the salad to be re-made. plus i had melted cheese on mine & the chicken was hot originally so when i got it back. the chicken wasn’t steamy & the cheese wasn’t just melted so i know it was the same one. the Salad still looked the same but without the hair. While i was getting up from the table, an older guy. i’m guessing the owner, kinda got snappy. and started saying you should check the salad again before you leave out, look over it make sure it looks up to your liking so you don’t have to come back again saying your missing anything or anything is wrong with it. always do that before leaving out. Sucks because me & my mom have been getting food at this coney for years but the mistake was wrong on their part, then i get the same salad, not even actually re-made ( guess they thought i wouldn’t notice ) and a slick comment on the side, when i’m a customer and the wrongdoing wasn’t on my end. Probably wont be back and will take my money elsewhere.
