Terrible customer service. On a late night, I was hungry and didn’t want to be out and about at 1am. They stay open till 3am. Not even close to closing. I asked the man who answered if they deliver. He said it depends on where. I told him my address. Literally a 1.5 miles away. He said no. I asked “so you don’t deliver to less than two miles?” He said “not in this snow storm.” I said “so though you just said you deliver depending on distance, less than 2 miles is too far?” He then proceeded to tell me he misheard me and said “what do you want?” (I didn’t expect much courtesy considering he acted as if I was a bother to him from the time I answered the phone but what a rude way to ask for a customer’s order.) I then proceeded to tell him that I would just rather not order if there is going to be an issue with me ordering from them. He tells me “it’s fine” but my delivery has to be at least $15 minimum. There is no delivery restaurant in this area that has that high of a delivery minimum. It could very well be the minimum there, but due to his obvious attempts to discourage me from ordering, I assume this was just another. I told him never mind and ended the call.
I was excited to try a new restaurant but after such lackluster and unappreciative interaction, this will never be a place I patronize. I would encourage this establishment to require that employees actually enjoy interacting with people since that’s not something that can be avoided. It doesn’t matter how good the food might be if the customer service makes people feel unwelcome and they never purchase it. Great customer service goes a...
Read moreI've ordered sporadically from Markie's for the last 20 years I've lived in this neighborhood. Food has usually been very good, and hot when the delivery guy gets to the door. However, last order I had was a real bummer. On the menu, it's described as "Fried Chicken," fried in oil that hasn't been used to fry anything else, garlic bread, fries, cole slaw. Menu doesn't mention a piece count, so when I called in the order I questioned the lady taking the order -- "Is this a whole fried chicken or half chicken or... ?" She assured me, "Yes, it's a whole chicken." I asked her for sure, "Is this enough to feed two people?" "Yes," she answered. Order arrives; it's a four piece meal fit for one person with half a chicken in it - breast, thigh, leg and wing. I had also ordered an antipasto salad. Total of the bill was $18 and some change with delivery charge and taxes included. I'm all like, damn, that's a lot of $$ for so little food. I call back. Same lady who took my order tries to claim that the "4 pc" count on the chicken fingers entry on the menu applies to the fried chicken entry below it. I'm like, "Wait, what?" Who does that? And this lady didn't offer to fix a damned thing. So, color me no longer friendly with or willing to order from Markie's Pizza. I'd advise anyone else ordering to please avoid this place until they can at least write an accurate menu description for...
Read moreAny complaints written are solely because people do not read the menu properly or they do not actually understand what they're actually buying. Everything that's sold here has been made the exact same as the day Markies Pizza opened. The only thing that has changed is the prices went up by a couple of dollars simply because the cost of products were actually a loss of money everyday due to the cost of everything they buy daily went up in value to make food items and use containers and boxes and such to put food in, so prices went up a couple of dollars on each item so this place is still cheap compared to any place around that charges up to at least $26 for a large pizza. Everything at Markies is priced very well to where it's affordable and you get a lot of food for what you pay for, everything is fresh; the dough is made fresh and the sauce is made fresh and we all know companies don't do that anymore un-like most places that have pre made everything. This place is the one of a kind and obviously they're doing something right if after 30 years they're still open.
Do give Markies a try you won't regret it. It's a great place to get great...
