This used to be the old Mexican restaurant El Jimador.. the updated new El Maguey is very nice. It doesn't even look like the old restaurant. Booths, tables, bar seating, decor all very tasteful and charming. I can't believe this place isn't packed. The service was fast and efficient. The food was the best part, IT WAS DELICIOUS! It was a very nice sized portion and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Fajitas Alambre which was delicious but next time I order the jalapeños on the side for my wimpy gringo mouth 😁. My husband ordered Parillada Mexicana and he was very pleased, he is used to the heat (unlike me). This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant so long as they keep up with the good service and excellent food. They're either gonna get sick of seeing us there, or they'll know us on a first name basis.

Go here! Don’t even bother checking out other places in Warrenton. As someone who loves to cook and is the daughter of a food truck owner, I can say these dishes are packed with flavor. We ordered the cucumber jalapeño margarita — the perfect balance of spice and freshness — and a top-shelf margarita made with freshly squeezed lime and orange juice. Both were absolutely delicious! The service was fantastic, and the food was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

WOW! So surprised how beautiful this new restaurant is. New owners, new ideas, new wonderful menu too. Food was GREAT. Prices were right, waiter(s) were looking for opportunities to be helpful. It's across from Walmart, near Applebee's. It's such a nice atmosphere, well be back again and again.

I really wanted to give this location 5 stars because we’ve enjoyed other El Maguey restaurants in the past, but unfortunately today’s visit fell short. My husband’s food was served well before the rest of our table, and we had to get our own utensils and napkins.

We specifically ordered street nachos with steak and requested no pico or guacamole on one of them due to an onion allergy. Instead, we were served all chicken with pico. When we pointed out the mistake, our server just said “sorry” and walked away without offering a fix.

Drinks were delayed, and to top it off, when it came time to pay, we couldn’t even sign the tab because the only pen we were given didn’t work.

Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing compared to other El Maguey locations we’ve...
