From the moment I stepped into A2B, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance of the restaurant instantly set a warm and inviting tone, with its tasteful decor and the soft melody of ambient music in the background. It's not just a meal; it's an experience.
Special Kudos to the Restaurant Manager Irfan. He is very personable, attention-to-detail and aligns well with customers.
Also, I want to mention about Mufthi, who is always looking to see how he can provide the best customer service.
The menu at A2B is a testament to the chef's creativity and passion for vegetarian cuisine. Every dish is a blend of traditional flavors and modern culinary techniques, making it a paradise for vegetarians and even those usually inclined towards non-vegetarian dishes. I was particularly impressed by the innovative use of ingredients, which turned each meal into a delightful surprise.
My favorites are mini-tiffin, Aloo bonda, onion bajji, Medu vada were perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. They set a high expectation for what was to come. For the main course, the full meals were simply divine. Soooo many options, and the gravies were rich and flavorful, leaving me savoring every bite.
What truly sets A2B apart, though, is their exceptional service. The staff are not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that enhance the dining experience. They attend to every detail with care, ensuring that every guest feels valued and satisfied.
Let's not forget the dessert - the Gulab Jamun and Rasmalai were the perfect end to an already fantastic meal. Sweet, light, and not overly sugary, they were the cherry on top of an unforgettable dining experience.
In conclusion, A2B is more than just a vegetarian restaurant; it's a celebration of flavors, a testament to the beauty of vegetarian cuisine, and a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the best of vegetarian culinary delights. Whether you're a lifelong vegetarian or just someone looking to try something new and delicious, A2B will not disappoint. Five stars...
Read moreThis establishment consistently surpasses expectations with its wide range of culinary delights. Whether you're in the mood for the comforting tastes of South Indian cuisine, the zesty and spicy flavors of Indo-Chinese fusion, or the rich and creamy dishes from North India, this place caters to all tastes. Personally, I particularly enjoy their thatte idli, neo podi idli, ghee roast dosa, podi uttapam, chole bhature (made from wheat and resembling puri), and the delectable chilli parotta.
While both the South and North Indian offerings are excellent, I find myself especially drawn to the South Indian dishes. The ghee roast dosa is crispy and golden, while the podi uttapam is spiced to perfection. The thatte idli and neo podi idli are soft and flavorful, adding a unique twist to the classic idli. For those who prefer North Indian fare, the chole bhature is a standout with its hearty chickpea curry and soft, wheat-based bhature. The chilli parotta, with its spicy and tender pieces, is also a highlight.
The service here is attentive and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience every time. The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to accommodate special requests and offer great recommendations. The restaurant's ambiance is inviting and comfortable, making it ideal for both quick meals and more relaxed dining.

Whether you're stopping in for a fast bite or enjoying a leisurely meal, you’ll find the prices fair and the portions ample. Who doesn't have nostalgic memories of childhood foods? Whether it's your mom's homemade vathakuzhambu/sutappalam or your grandma's vadai/sambar, food has a way of taking us back to the good old days.
But it's not just the food itself that can be comforting, it's also the memories and connections we have with certain special restaurants. For me, Adyar Ananda Bhavan was one of those places.
Whether I was stopping by for a quick cup of filter coffee or treating myself to a family-style thali, Adyar Ananda Bhavan was always a comforting spot. It was also where I celebrated important moments in my life, like my engineering graduation with friends and my student visa to the US for higher studies.
So you can imagine my excitement when I saw a flyer announcing the opening of Adyar Ananda Bhavan under its new name, A2B, in the new year.
As soon as I walked into the restaurant, a wave of memories and familiar faces (including someone by the name of Rajini) washed over me, and we were all immediately connected by our love of Chennai-style chatter.
Even though we had to wait 30-40 minutes to be seated, it was worth it. After all, we had waited over 20 years to dine at our favorite restaurant. And before we knew it, we were seated and ready to order our favorites, including a thali, vazhapoo vadai, adai/aviyal, idli/sambar, kothu parotta, and filter coffee.
Every dish was served hot and tasted heavenly, and we had to ask for extra tissues to wipe away the non-stop drool. And of course, we couldn't leave without picking up some sweets and snacks to bring home. My bet is that the mysurpak, thattai, seedai, and murukku will be gone before you can even say Adyar Ananda Bhavan one more time. Trust me, it's a mouthful....
