Fun vibe when you walk in. I'm from out of town so I went with what they recommend. She asked if I liked spicy and I did. She recommended the Cajun Pasta (brand new on the menu). It has grilled chicken, andouille sausage, and shrimp in the most delicious sauce. There was so much food and it had a perfect kick to it. Not so hot that you'll regret it later but not so mild that you have to add something yourself. Also got the firecracker shrimp, which were also scrumptious. Let's be honest, I ate almost the entire entrée.... I didn't have much room left. But I ate a couple and I'd order it again.
My eyes were bigger than my stomach so you know I ordered desert.... I went with the stout fudge brownie... I haven't had a bite yet... I'd explode and I want to enjoy it. Luckily I have a fridge and freezer in my hotel room, so I'll try it tomorrow and update you then.
Also I got a to go order to take back to the hotel. It was packaged perfectly!
So... I'd highly recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood.
Oh yeah I also got a to-go to-go (tomorrow) club sandwich deconstructed to take to work tomorrow. Pretty simple sandwich really. Nothing I order on the norm, but sandwich is perfect for work. The bacon is super crispy so that's an automatic win for me. But they made it exactly as my weird order asked. So that's a win.
**I couldn't wait. I had to know. Just a bite... ok two. Well technically 3 but it could have been 2. The stout brownie was drool worthy. Topped it with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.
I'll be back before I...
Read moreMy wife, daughter, and I have been at other Rock Bottoms but never this one - we were in the area and figured we'd try it out. When we were seated we put in a starter order of loaded nachos and chicken strips for our toddler. This order took FOREVER to come out - at least 30 minutes. Halfway through we put in our order of our main dishes, thinking the nachos were coming out soon.
Well, that didn't happen. Our main food came out before our starters, and as we were telling the runner that we were expecting nachos first (plus chicken strips for our toddler, which also hadn't come out) the nachos and chicken strips came out.
We told the person with the nachos (who seemed like a manager) that we did not want our main food first. The manager said that was no problem and told us they'd remake our food before bringing it back out in a little bit.
When they brought out our entrees it was clear that the food was not remade and was just sitting under a warmer. The plate was extremely hot to the touch and the side of onions and pickles that should have been cold were warm and soggy.
None of the food tasted fresh, including the nachos which we waited 30 minutes for. I would say the only one that enjoyed their food was our daughter, who happily munched down on her chicken strips.
The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the inside has a cool design. But we won't be coming back here and recommend you...
Read moreWould have given a 5 star, except we started out in the bar area and the waitress there was rude and obnoxious. Much better once we were seated at our table with a different waiter. Food and beverages are always dependably good, prices are fair. Staff is always willing to work with you if you have a small group and need multiple tables put together for a meeting.
Update: June 2, 2018. Apparently their roof is being renovated so a section of the bar and restaurant is "closed off." I wouldn't have a problem with this if it had been done in a professional, intelligent manner. Unfortunately, all they did was stack bar stools in a line around an area that had dry wall chunks and construction mess all over the tabkes, chairs and floors. The entire time we were there, two employees stood upstairs talking, doing nothing. Here is a thought, put those two employees to work, cleaning up the construction mess.
The majority of the restaurant was dirty too as the construction mess was stepped on and dragged everywhere.
My current thoughts are:
Fire the manager. She is in over her head. Have a new manager purchase Caution Tape and properly cordon off the area. Have the new manager properly...
