We did not realize that the restaurant had a Wednesday special, when we chose to fine at this steakhouse. We had a 20-30 minute wait and we're seated in a booth quite a ways across the restaurant, my husband was on crutches and does have a cast on, no one ever inquired, if the distance or the booth would be comfortable with him. It was so cold sitting by the window, we wore our jackets the entire visit and heard the people at the booth in front of ours complain as well about the cold. I ordered a hot decaf coffee with a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream liquor in it and was told they don't serve shots. Upon further checking our waitress did ask a fellow employee and was told that yes it was possible to order the drink as requested. The waitress took our order, which we both ordered steak, mashed potatoes and a caesar salad. After a short while our salad was served to us Just as I started to cut the lettice in my salad our dinner was served by another employee. I told her we had just received our salad and hadn't even begun to eat it, and the employee disregarded our comment and asked that we cut into our steaks to see if they were cooked to our liking. The evening was not going well, my knife was mutalated, we needed to request another one. We were trying to get our waitress to ask for ice water and again for a refill on my water. I asked the person who brought our dinners over and asked if I could get a refill on my coffee only and was served another coffee with Bailey's in it. I explained that I had just wanted a refill on my coffee, so she exchanged it for just a cup of coffee, no creamers with it, no spoon. So again we were trying to track y our waitress to get creamer, I used a fork to stir sweryrt into me coffee. When we started to eat our meal, I ate my mashed potatoes first as they were lukewarm, but complained about my steak being cold due to the circumstances. The manager came over and offered that they make another one which I thought would be fine. She also explained that the kitchen was having trouble keeping up with the salads, and that was the reason for dinner came do quickly after the salad. It was our thought that the manager, as pleasant as she was, should have had control of the kitchen and should have slowed down the cooking of ours and I'm sure other people's entrees, until the salad makers could catch up, before dinners were being served to tables who had yet to take a bite of their salad. The new steak was brought out along with another side of mashed potatoes, and was cooked to perfection, although my husband had finished his meal completely, so now I was eating alone. Unfortunately the steak had little flavor, I tried Texas Roadhouse steak sauce, which I did not care for, ate approximately 1/2 of my steak, and took the rest of it home for my dog. I appreciate the manager trying to help, but the entire night out was not much short of a disaster. What should have been a pleasant night out for dinner, certainly was not enjoyable and having to track down our waitress as opposed to her checking to see if things were okay, was frustrating. Perhaps the restaurant could not keep up with the specials being offered that night, if we had known earlier, maybe we would have chosen another place to have our dinner, I sincerely hate to be giving this restaurant such...
Read moreThis was the first visit to Texas Roadhouse for my family and I. This dinner was to celebrate my beautiful and incredible daughters' sweet 16 Birthday. She had mentioned she would enjoy a prime rib dinner. I have an office in Coventry, so my family decided to drive up to me from Colchester Ct. As I am new to the area, I was not completely confident as to where to find such a dinner that my family would enjoy. Couple that with the restrictions of Covid, I had a difficult decision to make. I reviewed the local steak houses and settled on the Texas Roadhouse. The reviews were excellent and the prices were reasonable. Good combination. We arrived after utilizing the "call ahead system" and it works quite seamlessly. Subsequently, our arrival and entrance to the Steak House took about 4 minutes. Nicely done. Your other patrons expressed the same compliments as we were walking in together but apart. I was Greeted by two smiling faces that welcomed us and seated us very quickly. I was thinking to myself so far so great. The pitfall must be ahead. Seating was somehow impressive which seems strange until you look at the bigger picture. Our booth as with all had been sectioned off with plexiglass and it was installed by a professional because of the workmanship. Somehow they almost made it feel normal. Our server Lexi was charming as she was proficient. She made our visit extremely enjoyable and it was refreshing to want for nothing. Again I felt so welcome and comfortable. As we waited for our entrees to arrive, I observed the other employees interacting with the fellow patrons and was amazed that everyone had a smile and understood what real customer service is. This behavior is seldom seen in this industry today. Our appetizers arrived first and as soon as my family finished with those tasty treats, our prime ribs and other entrees arrived, I actually said the word wow. Our dinners were brought to us by Michela who was courteous, professional and obviously exhibiting Leadership qualities. After thoroughly enjoying our meal it then hit me. Ok, Fast efficient movement in, greeted by pros, delivered a impeccable meal and here comes the bill. This is where they make it up for all that service. For the four of us with a a comboplate of appetizers and the incredible meal came out to $22.00 for each. The food was amazing and the service cannot be described accurately with the words available. I left there full and stunned. Michela, Gabby and most of all because of our interaction, Lexi, thank you for making my daughters birthday complete and allowing me to look like a hero for my daughter and family. You all are amazing at what you do and how you do it. Because of that, we will always come to East Greenwich RI when we want to have an awesome dinner out. Thank you to all of you and to the upper management of this establishment. Pay these people well and do not take for granted the professionalism that each of these people possess. What we saw this evening was not an accident or a fluke. This happened by design. To those of you who will read this. Put this place to the test and you will see something special here. Thank you for the experience!!! Kindest Regards, David L....
Read moreMy husband and I had the worst experience last night. We were out celebrating a huge business adventure and decided to give Texas roadhouse another try after another bad experience we had about 3 months ago.
We ordered the rattlesnake bites for a starter and a minute later the waitress comes back to say that they are out of those...so we picked the boneless Buffalo wings. We both ordered a margarita,my husband had a frozen and I had a regular one...The first round of drinks was fine.We ordered our meals ,my husband a steak with broccoli and a loaded potatoe and me a smothered chicken with mac and cheese and a sweet potatoe.
The boneless wings barely had any sauce on them and were very dry.We ordered another drink while we waited for our dinner. My husband's steak was cooked good but his broccoli was brown and squishy. My smothered chicken was so burnt I almost broke a tooth eating the first bite. They literally threw a piece of cheese on the chicken. It wasnt even melted. The mac and cheese was literally elbows in a cup with no cheese.I was not to happy but continued to eat the chicken.
The drinks finally arrived so I took a couple of sips to be able to dump the patron shot in and then squeeze the lime in.When I grabbed the lime it was so slimy and brown I almost puked thinking I just drank that.I called over the waitress and said I will not drink this, do you see this lime, she responded that I must have had a bad lime. I told her I wouldn't drink it so she took it away and came back with the receipt. It had a $5 credit on it.The drink itself is 16 dollars and the shot is 3 dollars extra. I asked to speak with the manager.
The manager came over and I explained that his broccoli was brown and squishy, the Mac and cheese had no cheese and the lime in my drink was brown and slimey. She went on to explain that this Texas roadhouse uses a different cheese and that is just their receipe...she didn't offer to give another side for me or my husband. She rolled her eyes when I told her that I was not paying for this magarita and was appalled when they only took $5 off..She grabbed the receipt and came back with the bill minus one magarita mind you the drink with the shot was $19....I did not take the shot I put it in the drink that I did not drink and she took it away...She did not offer any kind of apology or anything. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN !!!Worst customer service...
