The doctor I saw at this practice was excellent, but my experience with the receptionists has been downright awful. I had to wait on hold for over 25 minutes to book the appointment in the first place. The receptionist did not speak clearly and was difficult to understand. Despite repeating myself 3x, she did not enter my e-mail address correctly.
I went to the Providence location of UnivOto 13 months prior so I already had a patient profile. The receptionist told me that if I needed to re-enter any information or fill out additional forms, I would receive an e-mail from them. I never got an e-mail, so I thought I was all set.
When I came to the East Greenwich office for my appointment, the receptionist chided me for not completing the forms in advance through the patient portal via e-mail and told me it was "a different system" from how it was when I had my appointment in 2019. I told her I never got an e-mail. She handed me an iPad with all the same questions and formatting as what I completed in 2019. It was then that I discovered that my e-mail address was entered incorrectly by the first receptionist over the phone. I brought that to her attention and she fixed it.
The appointment itself, 2 weeks after the onset of my symptoms (with me still in pain) was fine. The doctor wanted an MRI done. The next day, I contacted the imaging center to book the MRI. They never received an order from UnivOto. I called UnivOto, waited on hold for 15 minutes, finally spoke to a person, and she briskly transferred me to someone's mailbox. I left a message about what I needed.
Two and a half business days later, I contacted the imaging center again. Still no order from UnivOto. I called UnivOto and left a message on their general line. 7 hours later, no reply.
Today, I decided to try logging into the patient portal in case somehow, maybe, just maybe, the order would be in there and I could print it and provide it to the imaging center. Lo and behold: my 2019 information is all in the patient portal. No sign of my 2020 appointment, though.
I am STILL in significant discomfort from my TMD and STILL cannot perform all of my work functions. I speak for a living, and anything beyond ~45 minutes of talking leaves me stiff and painful.
At this point, I am genuinely unsure how to proceed. In normal times, I would visit in person, but with COVID precautions I am sure I will be turned away at the door for not having an appointment. Maybe this review will reach the right set of eyes, and someone will check the general mailbox and...
Read moreIn short: Communication/attention to detail and organization of clerical staff is poor. Doctor was also not a reassuring experience as well. Would not recommend nor will I go back.
Referred in late July never received a call from them after a month of waiting. I called multiple times throughout the following month left voicemails but never got a call back/nor could I get through. I finally went in person and the coordinator was honestly great and scheduled me for an appointment and apologized. When I had to reschedule due to illness I got a reschedule date within reasonable time. However, 1 month after that was scheduled, I got called that the appointment should have never been made in the first place to due an error in scheduling. I had to be firm with explaining that I needed to be seen and eventually got an earlier appointment. After 4 months of back and forth, the appointment was a waste of time. I was seen by the doctor for a total of 8 minutes (from the time he walked in to the time I walk out of the office) to be told I'm all good. It was super rushed. The best part: the doctor charged my insurance $1000. The visit lasted only 8 minutes but got charged for a 45-50 minute appointment. Also got charged for two procedures that took place during that 8 minutes one of which did not occur at least to my interpretation of the bill. Luckily my insurance covered most of it. In the end, it wasn't worth all the headaches of trying to get this appointment the service was significantly poor all around, besides the wonderful person who coordinates at the...
Read moreScheduled an appointment here for my son because it was the first available. We usually see Dr. G. in the Providence office, which he is AMAZING!! Never again will I come to this office. My son has been suffering from severe nose bleeds, has been cauterized 2 times for this issue already. We seen Emily the PA, let’s just say, not a very good bed side manner at all. Seemed like us being there was a bother, maybe because we are not her patient regularly. She kept overlooking what I was trying to explain to her with how my son is during/after having a nose bleed. Not concerned about my concerns at all, kept talking over me and trying to rush us out. She ended up scoping him and then saying “I can try to cauterize again not sure if it will help, he needs to use proper nasal hygiene if he wants this to stop”. Mind you I told her my son has a texture issue/phobia of things in his nose. While proceeding with wanting to cauterize, I agreed to it and she told me “he needs to want this done not you”. After it was done she told me to follow up with Dr. G, left the room without even directing us on how to get out. Made an appointment with the front desk, she was rude upon check out after I stated I wanted my sons appointment to be in the Providence office because it was closer to home. Overall not a good experience at this office and my 14 year old son didn’t feel seen or heard...
