While the food is good, I’m disgusted by all of the nickel and diming they do. They say the bowl costs $12.99? You’re paying $16.00 because you wanted this protein instead of that one, or you wanted feta instead of hummus, and had no clue there were up charges. They didn’t even give me bread.
It’s also just stupidly loud in there with all of the white noise, and the servers are standing three feet away from you behind a sneeze guard, so one needs to repeat almost everything they say.
Lousy experience this time; not sure I will be back.
Replying to the business’s reply:
Nobody told me, nor was it clearly stated that some protein options cost more than others. Either way: if one kind of meat is more expensive than another, that’s what’s referred to as an up charge.
I didn’t order any extra sides; the person asked which of the sides I wanted from the last section…I asked for feta, and they told me it’s an extra $0.75. If hummus is free, but feta is not, that’s what’s referred to as an up charge.
I’m a Mediterranean person, and let me tell you…up charging for feta at a Mediterranean restaurant is like up charging for parmesan at an Italian restaurant.
I was given bread all of the other times I’ve ordered a mini bowl before, so I was under the impression that it came with it. Now, I’m realizing that what was really happening was that they were asking me if I wanted some, then up charging me without my knowledge when I said I wanted bread…which’s EXACTLY what I’m complaining about on this review. Are you understanding this now?
Not to be a snot, but I’m not stupid: I know the purpose and function of a sneeze guard. I’m saying that the restaurant’s ambient noise, for whatever reason, is SO loud that it’s difficult to communicate, and I found it annoying.
Maybe you should post little notes on that sneeze guard about what items have up charges, and what items do and don’t come with bread, and how much that bread costs. People work hard for their money, and since your price scheme isn’t clear, I’m posting a review so that others make sure to ask questions. I’m sure you have no compunction about skimming that extra two, three, or four dollars off the top of each customer’s bill, and that it makes a major difference in your profit margin, but you need to understand that in this nose diving economy, it makes just as much of a difference in your customers’ personal finances, and they deserve to know what they’re being charged.
I wish I would’ve told the worker to trash my food, and started again because I was not informed.
Hope this clears any ambiguity as to why I’m soured on...
Read moreI went to this place twice, once in May and the other time now in October. Both times was terrible service. The people don’t know what they are serving/ doing. First time, I told the girl it was My first time there, there was a couple items I missed when creating a bowel and she didn’t even ask or mention that I didn’t get a dressing or sauce. She also forgot about my falafel, so it was Burnt when she put it into The bowel after I mentioned it . The second time I came, I asked for wheat the man put rice ( I told him right away that’s wrong). Then everything was fine until I asked for the Persian cucumbers and pickled beets. He did not give me cucumbers, he gave me something else that I’m not even sure what it was. But I missed him putting the wrong thing since I was with my 1 year old and had to tend to him. So I got home and realized he didn’t give me the right thing. They also messed up my husbands orders both times as well. They need to get the owner in to train and better supervise these employees. Wont be coming back since I gave them another shot and they still messed up. Also, it wasnt Busy both times I came, so if they didn’t know something they could have asked or taken their time to...
Read moreGot takeout from them several times and while the food is good the staff can't seem to get orders right. We were short items or got ridiculously small servings. We got literally 4 pieces of green beans for a double order of green bean torshi and a double order of chicken tandori seemed the same as the single order we got on a previous visit. We asked for samoon chips on the side so they wouldn't get soggy, they buried them in tandori sauce instead. We were also completely missing samoon breads, dressings, etc... On top of that, they don't always package the bazaar meal on a proper serving tray and instead cram everything into smaller individual serving bowls where all the foods mix and defeat the purpose of ordering the bazaar meal. We are so very disappointed because we love Mediterranean food and want to support this place but we just can't do it after multiple bad visits.
Updated to 3 stars on 2/7/2023: We received a call from the manager who gave us a full refund for our meal and apologized for the poor service. They also said the worker who bagged our recent order was...
