I have been ordering take-out from this location since they opened. I believe it opened in the mid 2000's. I have also been eating at all their locations since 1999. It has, until very recently, been my favorite restaurant and cuisine ever. Unfortunately, food quality has begun to drop-off recently.
I now live quite far from this place, so when I get take-out from there I have to drive a couple of hours round-trip. I say this so you know just how much I have loved the food.
My favorite has always been their Hot and Sour Soup, and I usually get 2 or 3 orders of it so and eat for days. On my last order they gave me 3 containers of BROWN TASTELESS WATER. It was disgusting and I had to throw it all out. This wasn't just a single incident because 3 of my last 5 orders have also had watered down soup. This soup is normally very thick, rich and has been my favorite for over 25 years. Very sad.
I also get 2 main dishes, usually Pad Kra Tiem, and this was also watered down and nearly tasteless.
I would also like to point out that they have started charging a 4% surcharge for using a credit card. I understand that this become more widespread, however there is no way they are paying 4% fees for customers using credit cards.
At one point they had a sign on their counter that explained the newly added fee, but it clearly stated that there would be no added fee for using DEBIT CARDS. When I tried to use my debit card, the cashier refused to remove the charge, even though I pointed to their own sign. She just played dumb. The next time I came in the sign was gone.
This is a major disappointment and they have now lost a customer that was willing to drive quite far and spend upwards of $80 per visit just to do business with them.
It's just too expensive now to be sold watered down,...

I love the food at Bangkok Cuisine. It's authentic, although toned down a tiny, tiny bit for American taste buds. I can't eat the top level, super hot anymore, but boy was it great! Watch out if you think you like hot, work your way up first!
Now I can only have "no spice", and I have to admit that's there's way more flavor and subtlety in there than I expected after many years of eating the hot stuff. LOL
My husband and I really enjoy the great wait service, and the food is always excellent. If you try something new and don't like it, the staff will help you find something more suited to your taste. But really, you should just try different dishes until you find all your favorites. I just found a new-to-me dish that I wish I'd known about a long time ago.
We've been coming here since they opened this location, and the owner is very welcoming and friendly, which is probably why the staff is too.
By the way, this location is lovely. Beautiful decor and very comfortable, handicap accessible also. Easy to get to off the highway too. We grab take-out sometimes, but prefer to dine in.
Everywhere else serves Thai as bland, small portions, watered down and tasteless. Believe me, we've tried them.
So we rarely have Thai unless we're at Bangkok Cuisine, here or at their Rochester Hills restaurant. THEY know how to...
Read moreI used to order here quite a bit, before the prices went up everywhere, and it’s just not worth it to eat at restaurants anymore. I love their Thai iced teas very much, and they were always so rich and sweet.
So, I ordered one tonight, but it was nothing like I was expecting; it tasted like slightly flavored water. I figured something went wrong, so I told them what happened; the woman remade the drink after telling me it was how she always made it. After giving me the new one, she told me to tell her if it was any better…it was actually even less flavorful than the first one, but I just told her it was the same.
All she did was shrug, and walk away; no offer of a refund, or anything else.
I’m not in the habit of giving money to restaurants for something I’m not going to ingest.
It was just so careless; it left an impression. If you don’t care about my money or my experience, I’m not going to care about your restaurant.
I won’t be back. I used to like this place, but things...
