What a disappointing experience today at the McDonald’s on Van Dyke and 30 1/2 Mile.
When I watch our great niece and nephew, I let them take turns picking where to eat. Today, our 5-year-old niece chose to go inside McDonald’s, something she was really excited about.
We placed our order at the kiosk and waited. After a while, we noticed that people who ordered after us were getting their food. I approached the counter to ask about our order, and the older woman who appeared to be the manager without ask for details snapped at me: “We’ll get to your order when we get to it.”
A few minutes later, as she brought out a different order to the lobby, I tried again to politely get her attention. She yelled “Get out of my way!”
I was ready to walk out when a young employee from the back came up, asked for our order number, found the lost ticket, and got our food ready right away. He apologized and showed the kind of service that used to define McDonald’s.
Yes, I understand staffing can be a challenge. But there’s absolutely no excuse for being rude, dismissive, and hostile, especially from someone in a leadership position. That manager set a terrible example for the rest of the crew.
McDonald’s used to be a fun place for kids, bright colors, a playscape, and friendly service. Sadly, this location seems to have lost...
Read moreIt's not often that I am completely disappointed in a restaurant, but I experienced it at the McDonald's in romeo. My granddaughter wanted to eat inside after we went to the local garage sales. The experience was pretty bad all the way around. First we used the machine wanted to pay cash so it said to go to the counter. Apparently the order never went through so we had to order again. Our food came out and our order # was called so we went up and got it. Her happy meal had no burger in the box. So back to the counter we went. We watched as an elderly man stood there waiting for his order and others came and left and he kept waiting for 2 fish sandwiches and a latte. He must've waited a good 15 minutes. They called numbers and some people wouldn't hear their call. So their food would just sit there getting cold. Why have numbers to put on the table if Noone takes their food out to them? That makes no sense. There were plenty of workers you could hear in the back yelling and cussing each other out. So I really didn't appreciate the language coming from the kitchen as I sat there with my 2 year old. Someone needs to manage those employees better. If I was a manager I would have sent them home or they would've been fired. Lesson learned. Do NOT go here. Especially if you have children with you. Do...
Read moreWhat can I say, its McDonald's Low expectations and you're all good After waiting in line for 20+ minutes we make it to the window. I get a coke and sweat the mouth full of marbles kid say diet coke. When I question it I'm told nope large coke, I answer but I asked for no ice. Yep that's coming. I say no I wanted both cokes no ice and the answer is "I just go by whats on the screen " and he walks away. No offer to fix it. He comes back in a few with our food and I ask if I can get some salt, pepper and ketchup. After watching this kid struggle with a baggie, the loss of a glove, and looks of confusion I am handed my baggie of condiments. ONE OF EACH SALT PEPPER AND KETCHUP. I take it and dangle it in bewilderment and reply "Really?" Two large fries and 5 sandwiches and I get ONE KETCHUP. At this point I know arguing will get me no where so I drive away. At home the Quarter seemed old, cheese was oddly orange and crusty and "meat" was dry. Not sure when the main ingredient in a Big Mac became lettuce but I got a LOT of it. Kids ate the cheese burgers and they could care less. Next time I'm on the fence about going to TB or McD its gonna be...
