First, a warning to all diners who use a gift card, not a credit card - we were charged a processing fee of 3% for using our gift cards. I understand many establishments are now charging a fee for using a credit card but absolutely under no circumstances for a gift card!! We questioned the waitress and she couldn't give us an answer. We asked to speak to the manager, and was told he would not be in until the next day. We called the restaurant the next day and spoke to the manager and he asked if the gift cards were purchased by cash or credit card. We told him that we believed that they were purchased by credit card and a fee was imposed at that time, but that was irrelevant to the issue at hand. Gift cards are the same as cash, and customers should not be charged another fee for using them. He told us that he would look into it and offered to reimburse us for that amount. It's not the amount that is important - it is definitely the principal of the thing. In all fairness, I do have to mention that the manager did offer to take care of us when we returned but we explained to him that we did not complain in order to receive any complimentary food. It was to make him aware of the gift card issue as well as the food. We do not want anything. As far as our waitress is concerned, she was great and the service was excellent. As far as the food, our appetizer of Caprese Di Burrata was excellent. My husband's Linquine Pescatore was also very good. However, I ordered the special which was Flounder Francais and was very disappointed in the quality of the dish. For a cost of $45 for that entree, which doesn't include salad by the way, was disappointing. I should mention that I did have this same dish when the restaurant was newly opened and it was delicious. On a more minor note, our bread was not fresh, and the inside of the bread was still very cold, although the outside was warm, which makes me think it was frozen. I don't think we will be returning. Many other options out there. By the way, we saw a review on another site where the customer also mentioned their issue with the gift card surcharge. Hopefully, this issue...
Read moreThis is welcome and refreshing addition to the restaurant scene around Washington Twp. There was simple yet nice room decor. Comfortable seating. Our server was nice, engaging, congenial and very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The lobster bisque with crab was a nice way to kick off our meal experience. There was an ample amount of soup, well balanced flavors presented, with plenty of crabmeat. There was a unique presentation for calamari, not breaded and deep fried but rather sort of sautéed and mixed with arugula and cherry tomatoes like a ‘salad’, and it was excellent! The entrees were the special: 2 lightly breaded flounder filets with LOTS of crabmeat, roasted cherry tomatoes, and asparagus in a lovely cream sauce. The breading on the flounder was light and not over-seasoned. The asparagus was tender and tasty, not ‘woody’. Overall, a well-balanced dish. I wish it would be a regular on the menu. My complements to the chef for a great seafood dish. I thought the unique presentation of tiramisu was pretty cool, also. It was made good, not thick, heavy, or overly filling. It had a delicious blend of sweet, creamy mascarpone, coffee, and chocolate sauce. A nice way to finish out or meal. I’m happy we chose to eat here. We will...
Read moreWe had a dinner reservation for 4. We ordered two Arugula e Barbabietole salads(arugula, goat cheese, beets, pistachios with raspberry dressing), Caprese di Burrata(roasted cherry tomatoes, burrata cheese, roasted red pepper, balsamic glaze, pesto oil), two Pappardelle a Modo Mio(pappardelle pasta, musghrooms, short rib creamy ragu), Gnocchi alla Gorgonzola, and Braised Short Ribs with Parmesan Risotto. The salads, appetizer, and entrées were nicely prepared & tasty. We finished our meal with coffee, cappuccino, and limoncello cake which was very light and refreshing. Our server Giovanna was very friendly, engaging, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, and gave us good recommendations. She also brought us 4 small glasses of limoncello at the end of the meal which was a nice touch. A minor complaint, the tables were very close, and there was a table of 10 behind us; it was so loud that our server had to shout a bit so we could hear the special but we all had a good laugh about it. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and would...
