Rating 1 star because after a 5 hour car trip, booked a dining room reservation via Resy 50 minutes prior to the reservation time (8:30). Took a 10 minute Uber in the pouring rain to the restaurant only to walk in and be told “oh, you booked a reservation? Well we just closed the kitchen because no one has come in tonight.” Had to find alternative dining arrangements huddled outside in the rain because they apparently do not use their booking app, even though times are still available on the app. So, I do not recommend booking via Resy. If you must go, be sure to call to make sure they will be serving anything when you arrive. The absurdity is that they charge $5/person for no shows…what does a reserving diner get when the...

We had a wonderful first visit to Barkada! Really unique menu of wines by the glass from around the world. The staff were very helpful as we made our selections and everyone enjoyed the wine. Meat and cheese options were also abundant on the menu. The presentation was perfect with local honey, pickled veggies, mustards and more all served with an assortment of fresh toasted breads. Overall, we enjoyed our time and the environment. Service was very laid back and the block was quiet for being so close to U Street. Update: tried them a second time, still no advance notice or disclosure of Covid fee, but was announced and covered when bill. presented. Good neighborhood haunt, and cool atmosphere vibe... will be hard for me to stay away... adding a ⭐️.

Little taken aback by the undisclosed 20% COVID surcharge. Should be prominent on the menu - explained by staff. Enjoyed the wine, atmosphere and staff were pleasant and friendly. I hope they rethink their policy, or at least disclose...
