Amazing from start to finish!! My husband and I were visiting the area to watch a flamenco dance performance and figured we check out the neighboring Spanish tapas restaurant. I've alway had affinity for Spanish food; mt father is Spanish and I used to work at Jaleo. We did'nt have a reservation but were offered a table immediately but chose to sit at the bar with a perfect view of the action; a beautifully decorated restaurant with authentic Matador (Bull fighter) jackets. The bartender and the entire staff were warm, welcoming and professional; I never saw any staff member on their phones. We selected two coctails from the bar menu and loved them; the mixologist pro must have been on duty. We were first handed fresh bread; still warm from the oven and olive oil. We ordered the Gambas al ajillo, croquetas, patatas bravas, Salmon and calamares and a small mixed seafood paella (which is amazing)!!! Everything we ordered and had was spectacular!!!! My husband and I did'nt speak much because we were so enthralled by the food; especially the paella and gambas al ajillo. I cant wait to go back and visit this spectacular gem in our nations capitol. I cant wait...
Read moreAs much as I would like to give the restaurant a higher rating, I just can’t. We checked the website and it said brunch went until 6 so our 4 o’clock arrival was perfect for the 2 hour time limit. The ambiance was great, it’s a very cute spot. Now let me get to the issues we had…
Our server, whatever his name was )he never said) was the definition of rude. Never have I been in a restaurant and felt rushed and like I was bothering the staff of the restaurant. He got orders wrong and in some cases never put others in. As 5 o’clock approached we were informed that brunch was over at 5 not six and we needed to hurry up and place last minute orders. We did just that sadly most never came. When we asked for more mimosas we received the champagne and no juice. He never asked what we preferred and then began to pace back and forth making us so uncomfortable we skipped putting in to go and additional drink orders.
This had the potential to be super cute but turned out to be uncomfortable and irritating. Food...
Read moreA very good choice for brunch, they offer $40 for unlimited tapas as well as most of their breakfast items for this deal if you want unlimited Mimosas add $20 and instead of weak bar pours they leave a bottle of Cava at your table to fill at your discretion. Highlights for me were the atun de la plancha, tortilla, and patatas bravas. With unlimited choices it's great to explore the menu and order things you normally wouldn't, I ordered the boquerones (marinated cured anchovies) and had a very good start of the meal. Come early for a more intimate experience, our 11:30 reservation meant it was out table and just one more, by the time we left it was pretty crowded. Also keep in mind the 2 hour unlimited time limit and everyone at the table must order unlimited tapas for brunch. This is a great choice for a diverse group of tastes to enjoy...
