This hotel is gorgeous, centrally located, clean, and the desk associates and the housekeeping staff were all warm, kind, wonderful, and knowledgeable. Even the supervisor I spoke with was professional and wonderful and took my concerns very seriously. However, it does not earn a perfect score because the downstairs bar area is absolutely terrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, ever.
While waiting a few minutes for our room to be ready upon check in, the lobby was full and we tried to wait in the empty, save for 3 people, downstairs bar, which is directly and openly connected to the lobby. The bar manager immediately yelled as us and said unless we plan to pay her money for a drink, we could not wait there for our room. A desk associate tried speaking with her, telling her that is not true and we are hotel customers, she refused to let us sit there and we had to stand around in the lobby. Much later in the evening, we hoped things were better and went down for a drink. It was quite late and the rooftop was not open that night. We waited 10-15 minutes to be asked what we would like. Both bartender and bar manager (the same one as before) couldn't tell us anything about products, pricing, or answer menu questions. They really had no clue what they had or what it may cost. Also, the bar manager apparently cannot pour drinks. How is that possible? And if so, why did we get kicked out earlier? My husband then waited over 20 minutes at the bar, was served a beer that was not full because the bartender could not pour properly and she also did not tell him what the beer was. They forgot about me, I went back up and ordered a drink, it took 40 additional minutes for me to receive that. It was meant to be sangria, but it tasted like water and orange juice and I didn't really drink it. We asked for the bill and it was brought out with incorrect products on it and we felt the total was maybe high. I went to the bar for the correct bill, and the bartender yelled at me right away and said she only has one beer button and my drink needed up charged due to special ingredients. That was something I was not informed of. She refused to print me a bill that said sangria and the correct beer. I asked if we can be discounted due to the outrageous wait (it was not busy) and she said she is refusing to assist me unless I want a free shot. When I asked if it would take 40 minutes to get that, she started screaming at me, asking what my problem was, telling me I am a problem, and said to go to the bar manager. I was taken aback, I never once had raised my voice and was trying to ask basic questions to get my concerns resolved. I simply wanted a bill with proper items on it to start. I handed her the bill and turned to talk to the manager as she suggested, to which she then screamed in front of everyone that I was refusing to pay. No, that was not the case, I was going to speak with the manager as she suggested. The manager spoke with me briefly, then brought a new bill that she said was discounted. She has put two different wrong items on it that were more expensive then before and discounted it, making the price basically the same as the first bill. I really just wanted a bill that had what we ordered on it. At that point I went to the desk, who was very helpful, and was also told it would be reported to upper management. I believe that it was, but I am here to say that the downstairs bar is not worth it and this hotel is close to several gorgeous restaurants and bars that have much better service. This was on...
Read moreWhile the property and room themselves seemed nice, the service that my friends and I received here was unacceptable. Upon my friend’s arrival at the hotel, she tried to valet her car but was told it was full. Before going to find parking, she left her locked car in front of valet to bring her belongings inside and within moments her car was stolen. Although I don't hold the hotel or its staff completely responsible for the car being stolen, I would expect empathy because of the situation and assistance with investigation, which was not the case. The valet person stated he could see it being stolen on the camera and when we asked to see it the front desk attendant/"manager" refused, stating only the police and the owner of the car can view the video. My friend, the car owner, stated multiple times she was the owner of the vehicle and we were still refused access until the police arrived. In the interim, I spoke with the valet person who told me this has happened multiple times over the last 6 months, even his phone was stolen from this valet stand that very day, and they’re understaffed which could contribute to the incidents. He also mentioned that every incident the police found the vehicles the next day. When I asked the manager what processes have been implemented to protect guests from this situation since it's happened in the past, they stated this was the first incident. This made it very difficult to know who to believe. Throughout our interactions with the staff that night they continued to state they weren't liable, even stating "we can't watch everyone's car". Not once did we blame staff for the incident but instead of being helpful and supportive, they were callous and rude. Feeling so unwelcome and unsafe we left the hotel that night and cancelled our stay. To this day my friend has been unable to obtain a copy of the video. The police did find her the next day, which aligned with valet person’s prior statements. This confirmed for me this has happened multiple times at this property and makes me wonder if staff are involved each theft. At the very least its clear there’s a lack staff knowledge/training in what’s occurring at the hotel, what to do in these instances, and how to treat customers generally. I would NEVER recommend this...
Read moreFirst off, I want to take a moment to say how nice, friendly, and accommodating the staff was. Jason, Tiffany, and Crystal were amazing. There were two other ladies that helped us and I wish I was able to get their names as well. Just overall amazing staff.
The room was clean but a little smaller than what the pictures look. My only complaint was the toilet seat was loose and it slid off to the sides and the bathroom door and shower door was hard to close. Everything else was clean and staff would ask if we want it serviced.
The gym was nice with fancy equipment but even though equipment is on the newer side, it is not well maintained. The cable machines would snag, there is no leg machines except treadmills, bikes, and one row machine. It is super nice for a hotel gym but it is shared with the building across and the hotel staff is super nice about walking with you across to open the doors for you. If you are a frequent gym goer, you might feel limited when the cable machines aren't working. Overall, super nice in appearance.
Knocked out one star and it is really not the staffs fault. We had 3 straight nights where the fire alarm went off and two nights were because the building across where the gym is, was triggered. The hotel and building across fire alarms are connected. We stayed on the 6th floor and I have arthritis but we had to leave to meet with people for dinner so the elevators were off and we had to take the stairs. Hard on the knees with dress shoes. Hope they find out who is pulling the trigger or why it went off 3 out of the 4 nights we were there.
The breakfast on the rooftop is not worth the $19. I recommend finding somewhere nearby. You can get the same food but better quality at the nearby coffeehouse call Slipstream and you can see everyone's dogs that come through! For less price!
I still recommend the place with just minor situational issues.
4 stars mostly because of the staff. They all said they love working there and when you love working at your job the customer service reflects on that. I would give them all 5 stars if I didn't have the other...
