The Capital Candy Jar is one of the few businesses in Hill East. Located at 15th St and Constitution St NE, it's a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.
They have been around for years but crafting locally made candies out of Union Kitchen in Ivy City. Fast forward to now, they have graduated from Union Kitchen and have made it as a company opening this permanent location where they make and sell their candies.
The store is spacious with several corners of all of their candies from chocolate covered pretzel sticks to marshmallows. I recommend the milk chocolate covered Oreos.
In addition to candies, they sell baked goods to satisfy any sweet tooth but they also have a few savory pastries like mushroom, garlic, and cheese muffins. They also sell coffee from Zekes, a local roastery.
