I recently attended an event at the DC Armory and was overall quite impressed with the venue. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:

Pros:

Spacious and Versatile: The DC Armory offers a vast and flexible space that can accommodate a wide range of events. Whether it's a concert, a sports event, or an exhibition, the venue is adaptable and capable of hosting large crowds comfortably.

Historical Charm: The building has a unique historical charm with its classic architecture. It adds a special touch to the overall ambiance of any event held here.

Accessibility: Located near the Stadium-Armory Metro station, the venue is easily accessible via public transportation. There’s also ample parking available for those driving in.

Facilities: The seating arrangement was comfortable, and the acoustics were surprisingly good for such a large space. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained.

Cons:

Aging Infrastructure: Some areas of the Armory could use a bit of renovation. Certain parts of the building, including the seating and restrooms, show signs of wear and tear.

Food and Beverage Options: While there are concessions available, the options are limited and somewhat pricey. It would be great to see a broader selection or perhaps some local food vendors.

Crowd Management: Depending on the event, crowd management can be a bit of a challenge. Lines for entry and exit were long, and it felt somewhat chaotic at times. A bit more organization in this area would enhance the experience.

Overall Experience: The DC Armory is a solid venue with a lot to offer, especially considering its historical significance and large capacity. With some updates and improved crowd management, it could easily be a 5-star location. For now, it remains a great choice for a wide variety of...

Literally THE WORST concert venue in DC, by far.

The bar line was literally 45+ minutes. There's only FIVE bartenders for 3,000+ attendees. AND if you ever make it to the bar (which they close at 10pm, or 20 minutes before the show ends), there's no liquor; only beer+wine. Absolutely disgraceful.

There's no air conditioning. The temperature inside was 85 degrees. Water is NOT easily accessible (no water fountains). So get ready to become super dehydrated!

There's cops walking K9 police dogs INSIDE the venue through the crowd. They spend 10x more resources on busting kids for dab pens than they care about giving their paying customers basic amenities. Absolutely obnoxious.

Overall this place is vastly unequipped and understaffed for the events that they hold. 5 bartenders for 3,000+ attendees is not enough. With a revenue of $90/ticket x 3,000 tickets = $270,000. You can afford to hire more than FIVE bartenders, and invest in air...

Horrible venue for a concert. Such a shame, since the act was wonderful. Waited in line for a drink for 40+ mins, only to be turned away because they were out of alcohol. Meanwhile, I was waiting for a bottle of water. Security staff was extremely mean. No true air conditioning or ventilation, so we were all dripping and dehydrated, but not able to get water. We left before the main act ended because we just couldn’t take it anymore. Staff in the tech area had CASES of water, and when we asked for one because the line for the bar was from the back of the venue to the stage, he laughed and said no. Don’t waste your money.

Pretty spacious location with $30 parking across the street. We went for an event so parking fee might change. It was kind of hot inside though, I did feel some cool air here and there but nothing consistent. The bathrooms were clean! And the event staff was nice.
