Went to visit this place on Saturday night. It also happened to be the night of porch fest. We found a seat at the bar (2 people). It took about 10 minutes for a bartender to give us menus & take our order - great, this was a reasonable time. Once we got our drinks we placed our food order (1 appetizer, 2 entrees). 30 minutes go by, we see other patrons at the bar question where their food is, we overhear that the ordering system had a mishap. 45 min go by & we still have not been checked on or told directly that there was any issue with our order (or their systems). After over an hour we get our two entrees - delivered by a runner. 5 min later our bartender comes over & asked if anything was missing & I mentioned we never received our appetizer. 15 minutes later (and basically done our meals) we wave the server down to let him know to just disregard the appetizer. 10 minutes later he shows up with the appetizer in a to go container and asks if we want to pay for it to go…. very odd. we decline & he disappears with the boxed up appetizer.

weird experience & disappointed by the customer service - this could have been handled more appropriately if they had tried a tiny bit of communication & checked in on...

Tell me where you can go to get outstanding BBQ, buy allocated bourbon by the bottle, watch games, smoke cigars on the patio on Saturday nights, and join their Wednesday whisky club? Our first visit to Cinder was a great experience. The owner and staff were welcoming. The Old Fashioned is reasonably priced and they use Sazerac. If you want a bottle of some great bourbons, look no further. As long as you buy some food, you're good to go. If you like pork rinds. Then you can't miss these... If you don't like them, then you have to order them just to listen to them keep popping at the table for 5 minutes after they are served. Sunday means brisket day. Chopped, sliced, platter or sandwich, or even by the pound. Pulled pork was outstanding. The 12 yr old loved the Mac n Cheese, we loved the collards, and the sauces were great depending on your taste. If you aren't sure, ask for a sample of all of them. Also, on Wed nights, they have a whiskey club night that is something you need to actually be a member of. If you don't live in the Petworth area, it's worth the journey...

My name is Meredith and I ordered to go at Cinder BBQ on Upsher St. NW DC this evening. This has been one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Raine, Silas and Autumn greeted me with a friendly smile, professionalism and extremely prompt amazing service! The brisket, dry rubbed smoked wings, collard greens and peach bourbon BBQ beans were absolutely unctuous with the umami response, super fresh and mouthwatering , all thanks to the amazing Chef Ciara. The ambiance is also very beautiful and laid back. Their dedication to excellent customer service and professionalism are second to none and reflects great credit upon themselves and the Cinder BBQ brand. My overall rating undoubtedly is 5 out of 5 stars without hesitating. I will definitely be back for more of heir phenomenal BBQ. Raine, Silas, Autumn and Chef Ciara deserve big raises and the biggest recognition/honorable mention for their amazing friendly service, attentiveness and professionalism. Thanks Cinder BBQ for hiring this jewels of employees to represent your magnificent restaurant...

A great BBQ place in the heart of Petworth. We have ordered a little bit of everything that they offer. Wings, pork, chicken, shrimp, you name it. Don’t forget to try a variety of their sauces too! They have a great selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. So they are bound to have something that you want to pair with your BBQ. They have great daily specials but the normal prices for their menu items might seem a tad high especially when it comes to their alcohol. Their staff works hard to make sure you have a great time. The layout of the restaurant is straightforward with a bar in the middle and tables surrounding it. All things considered this is a great neighborhood BBQ spot.

Called ahead to sit on the patio with our pup. Arrived and the host sat us outside and notified us it would be raining soon. (We actually did not realize so that was kind) Ordered 2 pineapple ciders- sweet but good for when in the mood for 1 beverage. Ordered 2 entrees of the brisket. The brisket was good but little dry. The sauces reminded us of Taco Bell… Texas and the hot one. I enjoyed my potato salad and the vinegar coleslaw. The peach baked beans were not peachy? My pickles were not pickled… definitely still cucumbers and needed more time before serving. Overall 3.5/5- I’d try it again!
