Went to visit this place on Saturday night. It also happened to be the night of porch fest. We found a seat at the bar (2 people). It took about 10 minutes for a bartender to give us menus & take our order - great, this was a reasonable time. Once we got our drinks we placed our food order (1 appetizer, 2 entrees). 30 minutes go by, we see other patrons at the bar question where their food is, we overhear that the ordering system had a mishap. 45 min go by & we still have not been checked on or told directly that there was any issue with our order (or their systems). After over an hour we get our two entrees - delivered by a runner. 5 min later our bartender comes over & asked if anything was missing & I mentioned we never received our appetizer. 15 minutes later (and basically done our meals) we wave the server down to let him know to just disregard the appetizer. 10 minutes later he shows up with the appetizer in a to go container and asks if we want to pay for it to go…. very odd. we decline & he disappears with the boxed up appetizer.
weird experience & disappointed by the customer service - this could have been handled more appropriately if they had tried a tiny bit of communication & checked in on...
Read moreTell me where you can go to get outstanding BBQ, buy allocated bourbon by the bottle, watch games, smoke cigars on the patio on Saturday nights, and join their Wednesday whisky club? Our first visit to Cinder was a great experience. The owner and staff were welcoming. The Old Fashioned is reasonably priced and they use Sazerac. If you want a bottle of some great bourbons, look no further. As long as you buy some food, you're good to go. If you like pork rinds. Then you can't miss these... If you don't like them, then you have to order them just to listen to them keep popping at the table for 5 minutes after they are served. Sunday means brisket day. Chopped, sliced, platter or sandwich, or even by the pound. Pulled pork was outstanding. The 12 yr old loved the Mac n Cheese, we loved the collards, and the sauces were great depending on your taste. If you aren't sure, ask for a sample of all of them. Also, on Wed nights, they have a whiskey club night that is something you need to actually be a member of. If you don't live in the Petworth area, it's worth the journey...
