Everything from food to service to atmosphere would have truly been excellent if I had known some things beforehand.
1.) This restaurant probably does best as an Order-To-Go type of eatery.
2.) The space to eat inside is VERY SMALL. If you or members of your party are larger in size or if you have need of a highchair, please note that there is only ONE table with pullaway chairs. All other spaces are booths or seating at the counter (barstools and narrow countertops). Seated at the counter, you are likely to bump elbows with the employees as they take customers order from the counter as well. Parties of 2-3 are the most comfortable here for dine-in. We had a party of 5, two of whom were in need of booster seats/high chairs. We made it work, but it was a challenge, in case others were unaware.
3.) The ordering and menu were mildly straightforward for traditional eating. I say "mildly" because refills (which, for such an expensive menu, certain refills should have been free, but they offered LIMITED free refills) were a bit of a hassle to order. I needed to call a server over to order my 1 free refill for myself and my friend - and her order was just a Coke! - because I wasn't sure if the online ordering app would have ACTUALLY charged me twice for putting in an additional order of drinks, despite the fact that the first refill is free! Aside from that, my other friend tried to order their Banh Mi, but was unable to make more than 1 digital adjustment. We ended up calling the server over to manually change the order - defeats the purpose of a server-free ordering tool in my opinion.
Additionally, I needed to order a portion to-go, but there was no option for that when inputting the order as a dine-in, so I needed to call the server over AGAIN to ask how I could do that. He said he would let the kitchen know, but a.) That creates more work for the guy and once more causes the online tool to be redundant, but also b.) I had to REALLY TRUST that he was going to relay that information properly and that the kitchen would understand what I meant! That was a lot of trust to put into strangers when I have so much anxiety. OH! And they didn't put in the additional honey butter that I ordered to-go, so I'm out a dollar!
The online ordering experience for dine-in was a 1.5 out of 5. The dining in was a 2.5 out of 5 due to space constraints. The staff were a 4.8 out of 5 - they did the best they could with what they had, and I only deduct what I did because my experience was so poor. The saving grace for the entire experience was the food, which was a 5 out of 5! I ordered Mac n Cheese, Smashed Potatoes, honey butter rolls, their seasonal Korean Chicken Sandwich, and their Strawberry Lemonade. Food was good, if a bit on the expensive side. I can forgive the prices for being in DC, but $4 on a drink with only ONE FREE REFILL ON SELECT DRINKS makes the pricing of this menu unconscionable. If they had at least allowed my friends and I unlimited free refills for our drinks, then I would feel better about all of the outlandish prices elsewhere. As-is, and the fact that I paid $1 for additional butter to-go and they forgot it? My overall experience would have to be a 3 out of 5.
I would come here again, but ONLY as a takeout order and it might be a hit or miss as well, since very few businesses put a lot of thought into their To-Go presentation/logistics.
Oh, final note - the vibes were casual dining. The atmosphere mildly reminiscent of 50's diners, but more cramped - typical of DC...

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you are a fan of fried chicken, then look no further than this delightful restaurant that offers the most mouthwatering and soul-satisfying fried chicken I have ever tasted. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the love and passion that has gone into perfecting their recipes and cooking techniques.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a cozy interior and friendly staff that make you feel right at home. The menu is simple, focusing on their specialty—fried chicken—but what they lack in variety, they more than make up for in quality and flavor.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the fried chicken. The first bite is a revelation. The crispy golden-brown coating gives way to tender, juicy meat that practically falls off the bone. Each piece is seasoned to perfection, with a delightful blend of herbs and spices that create a harmonious symphony of flavors. The chicken is never greasy or heavy, but rather light and perfectly balanced.
One can't help but appreciate the attention to detail that goes into each dish. It's evident that the chicken is prepared with care and cooked to order, ensuring that every bite is a culinary delight. The level of consistency is unparalleled, as every visit guarantees the same high standard of taste and texture.
The sides and accompaniments are equally impressive. The fluffy, buttery biscuits are the perfect complement to the chicken, and the homemade coleslaw is refreshingly tangy and crunchy. And let's not forget about the gravy—a rich, velvety elixir that elevates the chicken to a whole new level of deliciousness.
What sets this restaurant apart from others is the genuine love and passion that permeate every aspect of the dining experience. The attentive staff, the heartwarming atmosphere, and, most importantly, the outstanding fried chicken all contribute to an unforgettable meal. You can taste the dedication in each bite, as if the chef poured their heart and soul into every piece.
In conclusion, this restaurant deserves all the accolades it receives. If you are searching for the best friend chicken you have ever eaten, this is the place to go. Prepare yourself for a culinary journey that will leave you craving more. Trust me, once you've experienced their fried chicken, you'll never settle for...

Everything was delicious!
First the decor is like an old school counter service diner with some seating inside and ample seating outside. You order and pay right from the QR code at your table and food s delivered to you.
My Wife ordered 2 Jumbo wings (original honey dusted) with potato wedges. I ordered the 3 piece mix, 2 thighs and a jumbo wing (hot honey sauce all day) with the crispy Brussel Sprouts. My meal came with 2 rolls and hers with 1 so I ordered an extra because the way they looked sitting up there so pretty I knew she was going to want 2.
The flavor and marinade/seasoning of the chicken was so on point. Sometimes you get good fried chicken but every bite doesn't wow you. Every bite from start to finish will wow you. I especially love love love the hot honey sauce they put on it. Man it takes it up 10 more notches and you didn't even know you had notches to go.
The potato wedges were amazing. Cooked perfectly and just the right amount of seasoning on them. They came out hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
The Brussel Sprouts were hot, crispy and de-damn-licious. They were hittin for sure. I mean when you look at the menu there weren't a ton of sides and Brussels aren't the typical side for fried chicken so I knew they had to be good.
The co-star next to the chicken is the rolls. I would eat them damn things all day long. Touch of sweetness, buttery, fluffy, ri-damn-diculous. They look as good as they taste. If you have a gluten allergy you would risk it all for these rolls.
The service was great, the experience was great, the food was out of this world. So glad we stopped off here after our MLK Day of service to enjoy some down home style cooking.
What also amazed us was how clean the space was considering the kitchen area is right there and it is tiny. I mean they were cooking an immediately cleaning and I was impressed by the system they had in place to stay so efficient.
Do yourself a favor and make your way to Honeymoon Chicken and your taste buds, stomach, fingers, everything...
