Little Garden Cafe — Restaurant in Washington

Place is nice enough, it looked clean and felt spacious. It was a nice calm atmosphere. The music was pretty boring, kind of like fancy hotel lobby or elevator type music. I was not a fan of all the fake plastic plants. I felt like a place called the garden cafe should have at least one real plant.. I dont know.. It was a nice enough place to meet up. And the service was really good, the people there were very sweet and attentive. I got a panini and a chai. The panini bread was squishy, but the multigrain helped the flavor. There just wasn't much flavor in any of the food I got. the chicken veg soup was basically slightly salty water with some canned carrots and a few lil pieces of chicken. the gr beans in the soup were good. The chai latte was like slightly flavored warmed up milk. The best part was the foam on top. I've been visiting this location for years. The Little Garden changeover has not impressed me at all. Multiple visits have resulted in okay coffee, not great chai tea (boxed?), quiche with great crust but pretty boring and bland filling, watery minestrone, and most recently a very flavorless cream of potato soup on the side of a completely incorrect panini order. In addition, my friend ordered the delicious lavender tea but was given straight peppermint. (This is fantastic tea we are very familiar with, and know the difference.)

Just overall very disappointing experiences food wise, and then there's the service... Not many servers seem very cheerful, and some seem downright impatient and unhelpful. I am not typically the type to leave negative reviews, but after numerous similar experiences and issues, I feel obligated to share. Found this place on Google and saw that it was near where I lived. My wife and I thought it might be a great local place to get a bagel breakfast sandwich and a coffee one morning recently (Sat. 1/30/21) The good news is the cappuccino was acceptable. The bad news is the service was horrible and the food was even worse. Additionally, it took over 20 minutes to receive our order. There were no orders in front of us and the bagel sandwich was warmed up in a microwave and the second employee prioritized socializing with a friend than helping the other employee make the two sandwiches. The bagels were soggy and the egg and sausage substances provided were not fresh at all. Was hoping the experience here was going to be better and become a regular customer but that is not the case.
