My review is 2 parts, one for sales, the other for delivery... Sales: 5 stars Heidi was excellent! She was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and helped us along every step of the way in our quest to find a new sofa. Even through the process when there were bumps in the road, she was professional and made sure we were happy. Delivery: 3 stars We had 2 deliveries due to the first couch that was delivered being broken. Each delivery happened within the time frame we were told. Unfortunately, when the first couch was delivered, it was obvious a section of the reclining portion was broken. The delivery team insisted that we keep the sofa and make arrangements for an exchange with the sales team. This was contradictory to what sales told us, which was to refuse delivery if it wasn't right. When the second sofa was delivered, the original broken piece was picked up. However, the second sofa was also in bad shape. Having been stored in the warehouse on its side, the arm cushion and leather was compromised. When we told the delivery team that we were refusing it, they pushed back, saying they could just leave it. When we told them we had been clearly instructed by sales to refuse if it wasn't right, they began to badmouth the people in sales. After some back and forth, they then started back peddling on their criticism of the sales people and ultimately took the sofa back with them. Between the first and second delivery, we attempted to contact the warehouse manager to inquire about their process as it made zero sense to deliver furniture that was obviously in sub par condition, but it seems the manager couldn't be bothered, as they never returned our call. Needless to say, the delivery team is less than stellar in their customer service. We originally purchased 2 of the same sofas, which were low in stock. After the delivery blunders we were losing patience and ended up with only one of the sofas and a refund for the second. Heidi made that process painless, but we are disappointed that we have to go back to the drawing board to figure out extra seating options because the warehouse staff seem to be happy to try and pass off products that are not in...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at the N Spokane La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery this morning, and simply want to say “Thank you,” especially to the sales person, Lisa M.
I spent a total of an hour-and-fifteen minutes in the store. My shopping method: sit in what seemed like a promising chair, and if the initial impression was good, take out my phone and read for a bit, and see how the chair and I settled in together.
After thirty minutes in the store I was thinking I’d found my chair, and the very helpful and friendly Lisa M went off to print me a quote, which would be good for 7 days, in spite of the sale ending tomorrow, to give me time to do some research on the longevity of La-Z-Boy’s electric-motor chairs.
It was a $3,000 chair, w/ four different electric adjustments, and it seemed to be very similar to the driver’s seat in the old 1990 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight that I used to drive, which I’ve always thought of as perhaps the most comfortable “chair” I’ve ever spent time in.
Before Lisa M got back with the quote, though, something in the lumbar region began to bother me, so I got up and looked around some more, now with a better idea how to tell by eye which chairs might work for me, and which to not bother testing.
I spotted one that looked promising (they have a very large selection!), sat down, and it immediately felt “right.” I mean, it was instantly, “Ahhhh.” I sat in it and read for a bit, and there was no question – this chair “fit.” And so when Lisa M came back to me I had to tell her, “Sorry, I’ve found a more comfortable chair: this is the one I want to buy.” (It listed for a bit under $2,000, so her commission (if she’s paid on commission) had just been reduced by a third, but she didn’t even blink, bless her.)
What a great day: I found the chair I’ve always wished to find, but thought I never would!
I highly recommend La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery, and especially Lisa M, who has a great,...
Read moreI am VERY disappointed with my in-person experience at the Lazy Boy of Spokane on north Division yesterday. My 87-year old mother wanted/needed to buy a sofa. What she didn’t know was that I was going to give her the sofa as a Christmas present. I asked her where she wanted to go first and she said Lazy Boy, so that’s where we went. We walked around the store and looked at sofas. We tried out practically every sofa in the store, from the front of the store to the back and from one side of the store to the other. Not once in all of that time did a single sales associated ever say a word to us. No, “How may I help you?” No, “Do you have any questions?” No, “Let me know if you need anything.” Nothing. Nobody. Not even a simple hello. We walked right past two sales associates who were hanging out at a desk chatting and both of them ignored us completely. After about twenty minutes or so of that, I told my mother that even if there was a couch that she wanted to buy from that store, I would never spend my money there. So, we left and went to a different store, with a sales associate that greeted us when we entered. Asked what we needed. Showed us around the store and treated us with simple respect. I purchased a top of the line sofa for my mom from that store. Paid cash. Maybe your business is so good at Lazy Boy that you don’t need to treat all customers with simple courtesy. Maybe there was something else going on. I surely hope it wasn’t because of what my mom and I look like. But whatever the reason, I have already started sharing with my friends and associates about how disappointed I am with my experience at Lazy Boy and encouraging them to shop...
