I HAD NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE. But for some reason, though I have driven past the place for a couple years, this one day I just happened to decide to try a burger and then BAM, it was their anniversary! And they were offering an amazing special.

I eat out a lot, so I wasn't sure what I was gonna get, thinking just another burger. Boy was I wrong. I am a Baby Boomer, so I always compare things to the good ole days when the Hambugers were large and the fries were exceptional. This was Lucky's!

Funny thing is that just four days pryer, I had went to another restaurant for their "Gourmet Burgers" and steak fries. I'm not going to mention the name cause it's not cool to say Red Robbin, when I'm comparing another place to them. The other place 😆 calls their Burgers Gourmet, NO, honestly you HAVE to try Lucky's!!! Seriously, I looked at my hamburger and it was the biggest Double Bacon Cheeseburger I have seen in years. And it tasted as incredible as it looked.

But to top that off, the FRIES.... the fries were spectacular! Really, you may come back just for the fries! But highly doubtful after you have their Burgers and shakes, which btw was like our old fashion shakes.

The only thing I am unhappy about is that I came online to get their hours cause I was going to come get another meal, but they were already closed. 😆 So, I decided to write about my experience.

Lucky's will definitely become a mainstay for me. And to top it off, the prices are extremely reasonable! Remember, I had just went to that other nameless place only days before and it was not, inexpensive. I just looked at my online bank statement, and I paid $26.12 with tip, and I only had a Hambuger, Fries, and a WATER! And the service was slow. After remembering what I actually paid, I will NEVER go back, and spend more money for an inferior meal.

Thanks Lucky's, I can't wait to come back for...

Lived in Pierce County my whole life, and I've driven by this place a million times. But today I finally decided to go there. First let me tell you about the amazing Grandma's lavender lemonade. Absolutely delicious and they state that their grandmother makes the lavender oil herself it's all natural. It is the absolute best lemonade I may have ever had. Next I'll tell you about they're amazing french fries. Now me and my two sons are french fry lovers and we've had them from everywhere and I've got to say this is in my top five of all time french fries. And they have all housemaid dipping sauces no store-bought anything. And I couldn't tell you which one was best if I tried I had all of them lined up in a row and I would dip one and then dip the next and then dip the next, they are absolutely delicious. Now I'll tell you about the burger that I had, I had their Chipotle Burger. It was a very tasty very juicy well crafted Burger all the way around. At this point I highly recommend this restaurant for their great food, and also their pretty cool bus that they have on the property that you can dine in. It's done pretty well on the inside. The overall experience was classic Americana Diner....

Food 10/10 Vintage Bus 9/10 Location ... a lil sketch

But well worth the FOOD! I'm from the Maryland. So I've had burgers up and down the east coast, we've been stationed in GA, TX and now WA. When I say these are THE best burgers and fries. It's like when you imagine a perfect classic burger, this is it. But I'm gonna tell you what I get. I get a kid's cheeseburger with grilled onions and a large fry.

Its a full size burger, yall! Sometimes the other options have too much stuff and its piled too high. My order is the PERFECT classic cheeseburger.

But ya know what the BEST part of it all is? BATTERED FRIES! growing up these were concession stand fries at rec league baseball games. So its nostalgic and delicious. If we dont eat in the car or on the bus, we take our food home and you know how YOU KNOW its good? Its got that grease marks on the brown bag lol now THAT is take out food. This isnt even satire or sarcasm, like legit this is what foodies know.

I havent had luckys in like 2 months and just started craving it so i came on here to review it lol like i want anyone new to this area to see this and its worth the drive (if your on...

This is our first time ever being here and we drove almost 40 minutes to get here. The food is good but the service was mediocre and the combo is actually more than if you bought the three items separately. If you look at our receipt the combo was $15.43 but if you buy the items separately, The hamburger is 5.29 the Fries are 2.89 and the large milkshake is 6.39 add all three together and the total is 14.57, that's an .83 cent extra cost. When do combos ever cost more than when you buy the item separately? When we went and told them they told us we have to send a message to the manager. We understand that but why hasn't the manager fixed it? We also had to return the burgers because we asked for three with no sauce and when we went back up there she said " just for future reference, all our burgers come with sauce so next time if you don't want sauce let us know" but we did tell them we wanted no sauce on three so they put the blame on us. The bus seating is cute and the atmosphere is nice. Everything was good but the service needs to be better.

Stop everything, and GO TO LUCKY’s DRIVE-IN! Hands down one of the best burgers in Tacoma! Their burgers are made fresh, veggies are hand-cut daily, and they have local bread (buns). Lucky’s delivers exceptional customer service, as soon as you get to the window to order at their drive-in style building you’re greeted with a smile! Any burger is customizable but the Back Yard Burger is my go to! Two fresh-made patties, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and their signature burger sauce. don’t skip on their old-fashion ultra crispy fries, accompanied by garlic aïoli, spicy ketchup, fry sauce, or ranch. If you know me, you know not getting a milkshake isn’t an option: made with real fruit, and again, fully customizable. Their dining area is a 1955 old bus, retrofitted with bar seating and booths. Plenty of room, not too loud, and their paging system is communicated in the buss so you can hear when your orders up! All-in-all 10/10 experience! Amazing food, great customer service, and unique retro feel Run, don’t walk to Lucky’s!

It's a complicated review. The bun, the toppings, the fry sauce are really good compared to a lot of these old school burger places. It covered the taste of the burger in a good way. The burger itself was interesting in that it was very smoky, but didn't have anything distinguished about it, and was a little chewy on it's own. The real star of the meal was the French fries and the shake. The fries are some of the best for a fast food place. They have a little crispiness and texture, though they're lightly battered. The seasoning almost reminds me of Tony's creole seasoning, but pretty light. They're good though. The shakes could be thicker, but I don't prefer shakes that way myself; so it was perfect for me. I'll be back for sure and try maybe the ranch burger to see if I can get some use out of that smokey burger. There's too many other burger places in my reviews that are better than this place to track it in the top ten for our area.
