We had a table of six to celebrate my wife's birthday. The restaurant has a beautiful, updated look and was very clean, which made for a great first impression. We started with the calamari, which was crispy and flavorful—definitely a highlight. Salads came next, and while we don't believe it was due to any negligence, there was a live spider in my son's salad. Our server was very apologetic, and the chef personally came out to explain that the greens were sourced from a local farm and had been washed both by them and again in-house. We appreciated the transparency and understood that sometimes these things can happen with fresh produce. They did offer a replacement, but understandably, my son wasn’t up for another salad after that experience.
For entrées, we ordered three filets, a ribeye, chicken, and scallops. The filets were all cooked perfectly and were well enjoyed. The ribeye came out overcooked but still had good flavor, so we chose not to send it back. The scallops were excellent—cooked just right and delicious. One thing we all agreed on was that at this price point, it would have been nice to have some potato options with the meals.
Drinks were very good all around. For dessert, the cannoli was excellent, while the tiramisu was just okay. Given the issue with the salad, I did feel it would have been appropriate to have it removed from the bill, even though we didn’t ask—it just seemed like a gesture that would have gone a long way.
Overall, we really liked the atmosphere and setting and would most likely return. Our server, Kimberly, was kind and attentive throughout. Hoping for some potato choices on the...
Read moreMy husband and I recently dined in for our anniversary dinner. We wanted to try something new and after checking the menu out online, we were sold!
The estate is impressive and it feels special just walking up to the entrance. We felt like we were on vacation! We spent a bit of time admiring the gorgeous architecture and millwork. We were seated immediately (we had a reservation) and were impressed with our service from Rose! She knew the menu well and was happy to make recommendations and answer any questions.
The menu had just the right amount of variety; small enough to know everything would be special, but large enough to accommodate any craving. I started with the mushroom Gouda soup, and it was arguably one of the best soups I’ve ever tried…and then I sampled my husband’s French onion. Out of this world! For our entrees we got the gnocchi and filet. Everything was flavorful without being over seasoned, and cooked to perfection. It is evident that quality matters at this establishment.
We had the opportunity to meet Chef Alex, and you can tell he is extremely passionate about his craft. We also loved to hear that as much of the menu as possible was locally sourced, as we always love to support local and shop small!
Definitely recommend Mangia Bella, whether grabbing lunch on a whim or celebrating a special occasion. Everything exceeded expectations from the attentive service to the delicious food. We look forward to returning and trying...
Read moreWe went interested in private lounge but can't see the reason to join when you can visit bar when dining. We wouldn't be there without dining. So no value or inclusiveness to pay annual fees which was disappointing. Dining experience was enjoyable but not what website promises as "impeccable service and attention to detail " falling short. Staff attire and training does not come close to those standards of a premium club or premium restaurant. With a few changes it is attainable. Food was good. Bruschetta was good, crostinis lacked in crispness which left them limp. Between mushroom gouda soup and French onion soup, I recommend the mushroom gouda soup. While both were good, the mushroom gouda excelled in expectations. Filet cooked to correct temperature and the red wine reduction was excellent. So nice to have green beans not overcooked. Rosemary Potato pave ok, not something that makes dish memorable. Biggest disappointment was the Tiramisu Parfait. If you are a fan of the authentic version, skip this as it is not even close. Every restaurant has it's great points and it's not so great but here there are so many interesting choices we will return to try other items. The ambience and rehabilitation alone is incredible. Joining the members only lounge is still questionable. Why pay annual annual membership with no real perks and when dining...
