Merry's Kitchen — Restaurant in Washington

We've ordered several times from Merry's Kitchen on MLK Ave. , ...but tonight I thought I'd give them a review. When my wife placed our order, ...she said they were very pleasant & professional. We both ordered the fried seafood plater w/ a medium side of pork rid tips, ...we asked for our fries well done (as we learned from other carry outs we must do, ...or else they'll come soggy and undercooked.) w/ extra tartar & cocktail sauce. Our order came up to $30.95 and it arrived surprisingly early (in under 30mins, ...20 to be exact.) , ...I was surprised to have received a free 2L orange soda. (But that cames w/ any order $20 or more.) When we opened up the bag, ...we were pleased to find everything that we had ordered. The seafood platter came w/ fried whiting, three fried scallops, two shrimp, & two crab sticks w/ an order of fries, ...now even though the fries were cooked as we asked, ...they were not quite as crispy as I would have liked them to be and could have used a little more salt. Everything was fried nice & crispy, ...and the scallops seemed to just melt in your mouth they were so fresh & tender. The shrimp was nice & tender as well, ...w/ a nice tantalizing bite after you dipped it in that sweet & tangy cocktail sauce. Overall our experience w/ Marry's Kitchen is acceptable and she never disappoints, ...so I gave her a 4 star. I would have given a 5 star only if your fries were more crispy & your soda was sent cold, ...other that we appreciate your outstanding customer service. Thank you, ...keep up...

This is my new favorite carryout. Im so glad I found somewhere else besides Kitchen 1. or whatever its called. I love their menu, they have a ot of stuff most carryouts dont have. And I know because I have a lot different menus laying around so Im constantly comparing them all. Merry's have a few more options. I think these guys make the best steak and cheese in my area. The meat is so nice and well seasoned and they give you enough of it. The delivery takes no more than 45 mins which I feel is reasonable. The food is always delivered hot except on one occasion, my steak and cheese was a little cold but thats forgivable being as tho theyre consistent with delivery and food quality. The steak and cheese egg rolls, potato wedges, hot wings (even tho theyre not so hot- but still delicious), are really good. A friend of mines love the onion rings. My sister loves the lo mein- I've yet to try it but I'd like to in the future because I love a good lo mein. I cant wait to try their sesame chicken and stuff too. RIght now I've just been eating a lot of steak...

My overall experience with this restaurant has been very pleasant. I've been ordering here since my moved to the community about 2 years ago. Pros: Always fresh ingredients; excellent fried chicken wings; delivery service is super fast and reasonable prices for sure. Cons: The American food items on the menu is below average and not so tasty; if you do take out, there are young men selling drugs inside the lobby area. Many people loiter in front of the building as well. The customer service experience is not always so great! Have I have better tasting Chinese food, of course!
