Zero stars. Took my vegan family here on a day trip to vashon and I wish we could have the time and money back that we spent. This place claims to be vegan friendly and has pastries piled all over every flat surface (with no guards to keep people from sneezing on them, touching them, or just brushing up against them as they hang over the ends of the pathways) but not a single one was vegan. The lady who runs the register seemed genuinely annoyed that we were vegan and if more than two things on the menu are able to be made vegan, they aren't labeled. Every surface is grimy and there are disgusting pillows all over the place. Seems like they were going for some sort of kitschy yoga theme but thought the public would clean up after themselves and never looked back. We tried to order potatoes and tortillas for the child in our group and they served burned corn tortillas with some half cooked, half uncooked drenched in oil potatoes. It was so gross that no one at the table wanted it. When the waitress brought it out she set the potato plate that was too hot for her to touch directly in front of the baby and of course, the baby reached out and grabbed the scalding plate. The breakfast burrito veganized was an additional $3 to have some wet, unseasoned tofu smudge added to your swimming spinach and soggy tortilla. So gross and insult to injury. We all know how much tofu costs but if you're going to charge $3 to sub it in, at least properly cook...
Read moreThe food was good, no complaint there. The baked goods looked amazing. We got a couple and they were both DELICIOUS. Staff was super friendly, however I marked this down two stars for them being covid safe and cleanliness.
They had outdoor seating which was great, but it rained the night before and by noon, everything was still wet, nothing had been wiped down. Additionally nothing was being wiped down between patrons sitting at a table. One group gets up, another sits down. That’s where it overlaps with covid-safe. I’d assume you’d want to just do a quick wipe down of the table between patrons, but that wasn’t happening. Secondly, most of the tables were within 3 feet or less of each other, no where near the suggested 6ft that they suggest in the line in the front of the house. Last, there was a server(maybe manager/owner) that was walking around asking how meals were without a mask on. I’m not trying to be the mask police over here, but it’s just something you notice. We had our masks off because we were eating outside, and I totally understand that people have lapses in judgement from time to time. It’s just something that I noticed during my...
Read moreThis is a pretty great pastry shop to visit if you are ever on Vashon Island. We came across this place and couldn't decide between this or Vashon Island Baking Co. We settled on this place due to the vegetarian options.
The parking is small, so you'll have to park on the street when it gets super busy. I was a bit disappointed because someone dinged our car in the parking lot, even though we were parked properly.
It's a fairly large place with lots of seating. A lot of natural lighting in the front of the establishment, but the back is pretty dark. You enter and you're overwhelmed by the amount of baked goods located on the left side. They are humongous and one blueberry muffin could probably feed a team of cheerleaders....
The pastries are dense, not extremely heavy and rich. The blueberry muffin, cinnamon roll and raspberry rustic scones were simply amazing. They were too much to consume so we ended up having to take them home. I wish I would've ordered the baked breads to go.
The staff here is extremely friend and...
