I recently dined at Space DC Restaurant & Lounge, and I must say their exceptional customer care truly stood out. As someone with a severe allergy, dining out can often be a stressful experience. However, the staff at Space went above and beyond to ensure my meal was not only safe but thoroughly enjoyable.

Upon informing the bartender, Josue Vasquez, about my allergy, he immediately reassured me and took detailed notes to communicate with the chef, Marcel Che, and Sous Chef, James Jones. What really impressed me was their proactive approach: Chef Che personally came out to discuss my dietary restrictions and preferences. On hand, there was not such an enhancement for my dish so they crafted a special dipping sauce on the spot, ensuring it was free from any allergens and tailored to my taste.

The attention to detail and genuine concern for my well-being made the entire dining experience incredibly comfortable and pleasant. The food was delicious, and knowing that it was prepared with such care made it even more enjoyable. My friends and I arrived from Atlanta that morning and decided to go to several day parties. The restaurant/bar is very nice. The manager that came over was very nice. He ensured we were ok on the roof top. He went to get a server but we were told after we ordered that we would have to order at the bar. Seems weird when you have waitresses but ok.After the group of of ordered multiple drinks a rude gentleman came out to the patio & offered us a $60 hookah. No one wanted a hookah so we declined. He immediately said well you have to buy a bottle or move inside this space isn’t free very rudely. My friend spoke with him about how we’ve already spent money he walked off. I got up & said let’s go let him have his space he done deserve my money & we will NEVER RETURN. So if you going to this city to visit don’t go here they don’t deserve your money. So a few friends and I decided to stop at this Space after leaving Ben’s Chili Bowl because their sign said Happy Hour drink were $5.00 and we ordered what was on their Specials List. First impression going to the bar, the waitress behind the bar didn’t acknowledge us and stayed on her phone like we were invisible. No one greeted us and we were only four of the six people in there. We finally asked for the Bartender from a guy walking by and he then goes downstairs to get her. She comes up, took our order and we made sure we got the special’s Lemon Drop that tasted sour like the Lemon Juice from the green bottle. Nasty! She then over charged up $10 per drink, didn’t give us a receipt and we noticed after we say our bank receipt! Terrible! Don’t go there!...
