I checked in here and the rooms seemed okay, though stuffy/musty. Okay whatever. 1-2 days into my stay I became violently ill, sick as a dog (despite having only left 1-2 times, AKA was definitely because of their facilities). I almost never get sick so this was shocking. I then had the 2 most miserable nights of my life, was drenched in sweat, and couldn't stop coughing up very thick mucus and it felt like my throat was full of razor blades. And add to this, they have a rat infestation which I also caught on video and attached to this review, there are many rats just openly running around their facilities which I attached photos and videos of.

So I told one guest he might want to ask for another room (because I didn't want anybody else to go through what I was going through) and he appreciated the courtesy and that's exactly what they did. Well apparently he had to go to one of their other facilities across the street that was more expensive, and they charged him full cost for that as well (presumably because he was expected to stay in the room with a severely ill person, so they consider it his fault).

So then I go down to the lobby and a lady named Talita told me to leave because of that. I had packages en-route from Amazon here. I had a fridge full of groceries and everything else. And they kick me out because they themselves are the ones that got me sick even though I am now better after two dreadful days drenched in sweat and coughing up thick mucus. It even effected my sleep.

Also to add to the uncleanliness is the fact that housekeeping only came by my room one time. Then add in the rats and the horrid customer service, this was perhaps the worst stay I've ever had in my life.

EDIT/UPDATE: and now the business owner is trying to rewrite history in their response to me, to smear and discredit me, so let me remind these liars that I have over 20 minutes of video recordings in which you explicitly explain that it was my being ill and speaking to the other guest about it as the reasons cited for banning me from all of your properties FOR FIVE YEARS.

I've now updated my review with some of that footage (Google only allows 30 second clips) and conclusively proves you are lying. It's the very last video. Maybe if you feel the need to lie about your actions it's a good indication you are doing something wrong.

The video is now up along with the supposed "threats" the owners claim I made (posting negative publicity online, those are the threats I made, literally just telling everyone what you did). Notice how nowhere do they cite what threats I was making? That's why.

And in the updated video you can clearly hear her stating that it's "against the rules" for me to be sick (again, their fault too), and telling me it's "not fine" because one guest requested a different stay, and ended up going across the street to your other property (meaning you didn't even lose any business).

So don't believe me, look at the owners statements and see if that aligns with the video evidence/proof. These are clearly reprehensible money hungry business owners. And that's why I said "okay all you care about is money? Then I'm going to tell everyone what happened and it will cost you money instead". That was very foolish to try and lie and discredit me when you already know I have video footage of the...

Wow! I was so impressed with Caravan hostel. The hostel: 9.5/10 - The room I stayed in was an 8 bed girls dormitory with an attached shower and bathroom. It was so clean! They had air fresheners, gave you a towel and a separate make up towel with lockers and linen. The bed and pillow were comfortable, security was great (it’s a code to enter the hostel and your room), very cozy common room with fully equipped kitchen plus additional bathrooms. I hear they also provided free toiletries but I carried my own oh and that essential free coffee in the morning! Such a nice touch. Also water stations with ice! I was very very impressed. Just one con: the hostel is right next to a few bars so it can get noisy in the night but it took me a night to adjust.

Location: I would put this as 9/10 because there’s no metro station close by but there are buses that can take you there. Being from NY, it was not super easy to get around. You had to time the buses with the metro. This was also a holiday weekend. It’s easily 40 mins walking from the Mall area.

Staff: 9.5/10 - only reason for the deduction is because I asked to move to a lower bunk and they couldn’t accommodate citing it was full but I saw plenty of girls leaving and new girls coming in. So I think this could’ve been done. Other than that,...

I have never stayed at a hostel before and I really enjoyed my experience here. The rooms were clean, the amenities were provided, extras such as cards were also included, and the staff were phenomenal. Specifically, Finn was very hospitable and a great conversationalist. The hostel also offered a great living room space where chatting is encouraged, allowing us to bond with other guests which was always interesting. If you’re worried about safety, each room and front door has a key pad that can only be unlocked with your code and there are separate bathrooms for women as well so there is no need for concern. Apart from the hostel itself, the location is perfect as it’s in walking distance from delicious and diverse restaurants. If you’re coming to D.C, give caravan hostel a try and say hi to...

Good New Hostel. beds were comfortable, I'm 6"4 and I could lie straight with my feet touching the end. Lockers in the bedroom were big enough for my XL suitcase. Outdoor patio space on the roof was also a nice way to get some fresh air at the end of the day. Only suggestion I would have is maybe installing some hooks or shelves in the shower areas outside 410 as there is no where to hang your clean clothes or towel so you have to balance it all on the shower rod and try to not get it wet. Also I would watch out for the Homeless people up the street by the McDonald's if your going up there for breakfast or anything but that's not the hostels fault and they didn't come down the street towards the hostel area so its alright around there.
