I go to this location all of the time. Most times, the staff are very nice and accommodating. Today was the exception. I came in over 10 minutes after placing my online order. I understood that they were backed up a little. I waited in the store for almost 30 additional minutes. I had asked the woman doing food two times about my order. The second time, Mandi interrupted and said "It's not that big of a deal." I was shocked - it IS a big deal. At this point, I'm late for work and I tried to get a refund (because Starbucks is expensive!) and they kept saying "it's coming in just a minute." I responded to her telling her that. I was trying not to make a big scene and Mandi yelled out "well, you should have ordered online." Once I told her that I did, she yelled back, "well, everyone's waiting." People were not waiting for 40 minutes for online orders. There was obviously something wrong and she wasn't even interested in helping. She then spent the rest of the time I was in the store laughing at me and saying that I was being ridiculous - all while she was apparently so behind with orders - I guess she had more time than she realized. I have never been treated so poorly at a Starbucks. And it's terrible because the other employees are very nice. How is she allowed to continue treating customers like that? Where was the manager? Perhaps she needs a new training in customer service. Honestly, she ruined this Starbucks for me. I never want to interact with her again. I hope she gets the...
Read moreI was staying in a hotel nearby and stopped by two days in a row for my morning coffee. First off, I have to say that the entire staff was incredibly friendly, professional and hardworking, so this feedback does not reflect on them at all. However, since this company is apparently struggling a lot lately, management/corporate might want to know that it is not great to prioritize mobile orders over in-person customers, making those of us in the store wait a solid 7+ minutes for our drinks because the baristas are overwhelmed by the weekday morning mobile rush. I kept standing in the small bar area, waiting and watching drink after drink after drink be made, even though there was literally no one in the store line in front of me. However, there were about 11 drinks sitting on the table for mobile customers (that I suppose would be in at their leisure), and those drinks just kept piling up in front of us. The hero barista was working as fast as he could, but it would be nice if those of us that actually come into the store and line up for our $6 lattes are served before the customers placing their orders from their phone somewhere else in the city. I almost went to Peet's instead of Starbucks the second day (precisely because of the long wait), but since it was a Saturday, the wait was much shorter without all of the weekday 8:30am...
Read more….is Starbucks losing money? Because why did it take ten+ minutes for me to get a slice of banana bread….Jesus christ if I knew I wouldn’t have gone and I also wouldn’t have asked for it warmed up. And then when I get it it takes another few minutes for the person to hand me my paid for the banana bread slice and gives attitude??? All this for 4 bucks? It’s giving weird. Friendly reminder from a former fast food and retail employee … being rude to customers for no reason gains you nothing and doesn’t make your life better. I’m truly sad for whoever the girl was who gave me attitude over a slice of banana bread and responding to her saying my name. Like is your home life ok? Depressed? Get on meds or something! They are great, I recommend Wellbutrin. If a person ordering a slice of banana bread and then saying “that’s mine” when YOU say MY name gets you upset … it’s giving anger management classes which there are some free ones around DC! Anyways. Yeah I’m gonna stick to patronizing the Starbucks on H street and only Starbucks in suburban areas which means yeah everyone just try to give your money and business to the H street location. Cause I just can’t believe it took ten+ minutes to get a slice of banana bread and then I got...
