I want to be clear that I love The Roost. I live nearby and have been going regularly since they opened during the pandemic. I also understand it is family friendly, but it seems as if this place has started to feel more like a playground than a restaurant with parents using it as a place to let their kids blow off steam, while enjoying their adult time at the expense of everyone else. And The Roost has been letting it happen. Yesterday was the last straw for me. My husband and I visited with our dog for a relaxing Friday HH drink and snack. About 20 minutes after we sat down, a family showed up and took a table next to us. Their kids, all looked to be between five and eight, and were VERY loud, like constant screaming. Soon, some more parental friends and their kids showed up too. So now, there were 6 parents and 9 kids crowded around a 4-top table and all the kids were working each other up even more. My husband and I could not even talk to each other it was so loud and our dog was getting increasingly agitated. The place was full and we had no other option for a table. I guess I didn’t have a very good poker face because at one point one of the moms had the audacity to say to me that “there are lots of tables inside.” Imagine being so entitled that you think you own a public patio and can inconvenience other people. Anyways, instead of staying for a second drink, The Roost lost our business because we chugged down what we had and hightailed it out of there to save our own sanity. Another table nearby left before even ordering after they realized their time was going to be miserable. And again, The Roost did nothing about it. Family friend? Fine. A playground? No. But that’s what this place is turning into. I really hope that changes in the future or they will continue to...
Read moreI literally stepped to the side to tend to my little one.Becauee they like to assume black ppl be doing whatever he thought he called the manager over to say i’m not paying for my food when i told him and put up my hand to say hold on give me a hot second. Then when i told him again he put my. holds pizza in the trash when i stood back up i said hey the im ready he said no and the lady talking about no bevauee you didn’t pay i’m like i’m trying pay i literally told him hold on just for them to say he doesn’t speak english well when he just said pizza gone to me in english. Then the white manage came out talking about we don’t have to tell you that when i’m like how ? if he taking orders where we speak english. so i was super confused then they had this big security guard talking about he calling the police after i peeped what was going on he assumed i couldn’t speak spanish or even said he did i could’ve easily switch . but assuming that i didn’t know it because of my skin or then try to make me seem like i’m being out right when i came in there plenty of times with my white friends and kids while different reaction i’m catered to and all just go to shows how they think they going play with chocolate city. i’m in the process of getting them investigated due to this and then lying to the police so i can get harassed with my 5 year old who i literally told the GM we just lost her dad we just out getting food but she been super sad that’s only the reason i told dude to hold on ! but it got escalated so anybody eat her lets me know you are with cause and agree with...
Read moreHaving all the menu in one spot to order from via QR code & to have the food all brought to you is forward thinking. Though they failed to address that customers might need to customize or remove items from dishes beyond what they offer in their limited options on the app. For instance, one of the burger meals in the Red Apron had pepperoni inside it, but there's nowhere in your order that you can ask for it to be removed. Furthermore, once you place an order no matter what's wrong with it, you cannot interact on the app to indicate there's something wrong with what you've ordered or to give input on it. Poor customer experience in that sense. The tip aspect of it too is laughable, the only service one receives is bringing food and water to your table that's it 🤷🏿♂️.
Lastly, CAMEO the coffee shop has very poor customer service, started by serving me cappuccino with no sweetener, which obviously as above there's no way to get hold of them in the app, literally have to walk down to their side of the court to have them address any issues. All I got from then is that they have it as options in their menu, the options which didn't state that they served their cappuccinos with zero sweetner. All I got from their worker was an offhand we have sweetener packs in front and she walked away. P.S. their drinks are probably served warm/Luke warm because it'll be cold if you don't drink it within 15 mins of getting it. If could do a separate review from this one, I'll rate then 2 star, couldn't even Drink it, left the whole...
