We came in to twigs tonight with family, and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences we had. As someone who works in customer service, I understand food being late and complications occurring, but even when those things arise I feel customer service should be top priority and keeping your customers in the loop should be in order. We arrived at 5:30 and we didn’t receive our appetizers for an hour and then waited for about another 45 minutes for our entrees. All food arrived cold and with skins formed over sauces/hummus showing the food had sat for quite awhile. One of our family members was informed just a few moments before our food came out that her main side of her dish wasn’t available. One of our entrees didn’t arrive for another 20 minutes, we received the dish and it was piping hot, my guess is the dish was forgotten when putting in the order and they had to whip it out quickly. This is all of course irritating but the part that made it worse was our waitress seemed to not care, did not have an explanation for us at any point in the night, would make eye contact with us when we would try to gain her attention to ask a question or drink refill and completely ignore us, really had nothing to say to us the entire night but put our order in and was generally unfriendly. I understand if you’re having a bad night, I know that industry can be stressful, but even a "hey guys we are having some problems in the kitchen im so sorry I’ll keep you updated on when it’s coming." I’m only giving a 2 star because 1) they at the least gave us 50% off the meal and 2) the girl (I wish I would have got her name, shorter girl with short brown hair) who brought our appetizers was the nicest girl there, even while she was stressed out, she kept a smile on and was incredibly sweet and I made sure to tell her so and gave her a hug. People who can rise above the stress and still keep customer service their priority are the people that should be in the industry. Sadly we won’t be back, maybe a check in on your training of how people should be treating customers in that kind of situation...
Read moreThis has been a very good restaurant in the past. The food is still very good, albeit quite pricey. I do not know what the difficulty was tonight, and part of my concern may have been my fault. I made a reservation for 5:00PM and asked for a pond-side table (outside seating). When we arrived at 4:45PM, my wife opted for inside seating. When she did, I asked for a nice table near the window. The hostess said that all of the near-window tables were for large parties, and having eaten at this restaurant before, she was accurate in her response. She then seated us at a small table for two, one seat facing the bar, the other facing outside with a window view. We waited for 15 minutes before a waitress first checked in at our table (we were 15 minutes early). The wine and appetizers were delivered fairly quickly, but we waited another 20 minutes before the waitress took our order for our meal. We waited another 30+ minutes for our dinner to be served. Look... the food was pretty good, but the service was terribly slow. The waitress was polite, but never offered to apologize for the slow service. It was an hour and 50 minutes from arrival to when we left. I have waited for my meal plenty of times, but if a restaurant is going to charge premium prices for good food, the service better match. Also, I do not appreciate being seated in a cramped table for two, when there were six larger tables directly in our vicinity that remained open through our stay! Why can't restaurant managers figure out that the people who come early (with reservations) should be treated better than people who are not even at the restaurant? First come, first-served? Not eating here again. I can get really good food and really good service at plenty of other venues for half the...
Read moreMy husband, mother and I had dinner at Twigs Saturday September 7. We sat out side by the water, a nice setting. We started by sharing an appetizer of the tapenade and humus plate with vegetables. For dinner my husband and mom had the fish and chips. I had the BISTRO STEAK SALAD...this I am assuming is where things went wrong. After dinner we drove my mom home about 35 min, hang out for a bit AND THEN THE STOMACH CRAMPING BEGAN. With in the hour I was vomiting had diarrhea and cold sweats. If you understand FOOD POISONING this is it. Time frame and symptoms. When I was finally able to safely make the half hour trip home we called the restaurant to notify them in case others were affected. Taylor took the call and said the manager would call in the morning to check on me. Next day we heard nothing. I spent the day recuperating. I did not go to the hospital as I knew what was happening and the symptoms eased as the day went on. In the evening my husband called back and asked to speak with manager Cynthia. Upon explaining the situation her response was “oh I’m sorry to hear that she must have had an allergic reaction, that salad has a lot of allergens “ I don’t know about you but vomiting and an instant flushing of my bowels has never been any allergic reaction I have heard of. I understand these things can happen and a simple “we are so sorry, thank you for letting us know and we will take every precaution to prevent this again” would have sufficed. But the condescending denial of any problem was just plain irritating. So my husband pushed for a meal reimbursement ($102.08) Cynthia said she would put it before the Corporate Office and let us know. Not surprisingly we have...
