Great local neighborhood bakery in close proximity to the Highway with plenty of returning customers as well as new faces popping in and out of the business. Service was quick and friendly. The menu features drinks, grill items, breads, pastries, and donuts. A half dozen donuts is currently priced at $6.50 which is very reasonable for a bakery continuously bringing out fresh trays of pastries throughout the morning. The donuts themselves were an average size and fluffy on the inside. The dough leaned slightly savory rather than sweet. I was able to detect a subtle flavor of egg and yeast more-so when eating the Cinnamon Sugar donut. Donuts: -Cinnamon Sugar was okay. I usually enjoy donuts on their own but I recommend pairing this one with a beverage. It would be interesting if powdered cinnamon were incorporated into the dough in addition to the existing exterior coating or if there were a donut with a cinnamon sugar streusel topping. -Bavarian was coated with powdered sugar and the filling although silky, left me wanting more of the classic vanillin notes of a crème bavarois. -Glazed was pretty good aside from a couple areas around the hole of the donut on the underside which had pooled with fry oil and glaze (did not make for the most pleasant bites). Liked (from most to least): 1. Glazed 2. Bavarian 3. Cinnamon Sugar *Forgive me, I have been spoiled by Fany Gerson’s creations at Fan Fan Doughnuts.

Rating it at 3.8 🌟 So my sis takes me here claiming their donuts are really good, also mentioning their glazed donuts taste like those of Krispy Kreme. Alright I'm drawing the line cause I've convinced myself Krispy Kreme's glazed donuts have crack in them because they are addicting - you just can't have one. Ok.. I tried the glazed and she was spot on. The donuts were soft and just the right amount of sweetness. I'm a Boston Creme donut fan so I ordered it as well. I was somewhat disappointed because it wasn't as soft and the creme really didn't have much flavor. Sadly, I dare to say that it could've been sitting for a whole day as it didn't taste as fresh as the glazed one. The chocolate topping tasted good and probably stole some of the creme's thunder, but I would say the creme still needed alittle more flavor. They are worth another visit as I hear the apple filled donut is popular as well. I'm rooting for them to have a better Boston Creme donut next time I'm in town (*cough* in May *cough*)

I had the pleasure of coming to Brooklynn bakery as I tend to do some mornings. But unfortunately, here is what makes the experience less than perfect. The food is phenomenal. The baked goods are the best in Connecticut in my opinion. The service isn’t as much. And here’s why. After your order is taken, and you’re brought over to the kiosk to pay the employees spend more time, engaging each other and chitchatting with each other then engaging you until the payment process is over. And once you’ve made your payment, they swing the kiosk around to you so that you can decide whether or not you wanna leave a tip the whole while talking to each other and joking around. I work in hospitality, so I understand that tips are earned and not given. And I also know that working in the service industry, your engagement should be with the customer until they leave the front counter, not talking to each other about their plans or making jokes or discussing the latest going on. It has become a common place practice for businesses to solicit tips for their employees, but I don’t believe they’re taking enough time to teach the employees the art of earning the tip. Everyone’s money is valuable. It takes time and effort to earn it on both sides, the customer and the business. And I think that should be respected through The level of sincere engagement that employees demonstrate while dealing with clients. That would have made this experience perfect. And unfortunately, this is not something that has happened as a one off. It’s usually the same way when visiting Brooklynn Bakery. Their employees look like they’ve rolled out of bed and they were pajamas to work. The young man behind the counter had pajama pants on and a oversize hoodie and his hair was all over the place. I think if you want tips, then you should take more care with how you present yourself and how you engage the customer and not just swing the kiosk around hoping that you will make a donation to their pay.

Sweet. Jesus. I had to try this place out after hearing all the hype and it didn't disappoint! What you hear is true! This is quite possibly the best donut in the world! Tucked back in a plaza on Waterbury, it's a hidden gem. Walking in, there's a classic bakery feel with the smell to match. Fresh breads, pastries etc... then... DONUTS! I started with 1, which turned to 2 and then a dozen for the ride home. I was back 2 days later for a few dozen to drop off at my kids school. I can't eat a normal donut anymore. Dunkin, Starbucks... all the trendy donut spots can't touch Brooklyn Bakery. It's as if God himself came down and handed this donut to the owner and said "If you make it they will come". Wait... that's a baseball movie. I digress. Trust me. Try the donut. You won't be disappointed. (Mandy, Sonia... This means you next time youre in Stamford!)

What a devoted local following! We visited while passing through town and the line was out the door. Their bacon egg and cheese sandwich is pillowy soft & steamy, and their donuts are similarly tender. Boston cream filling was silky and tasted homemade. They have shelves neatly stocked with floury blond sliced loaves and rolls, and their pastry case is full of beautiful cupcakes and a handful of other pastry that I imagine are also good quality. While the line moved a bit slowly, coffee was just okay, and the donut selection was small, they are clearly well-established and serving patrons what they want. Cute place too- a giant dough trough table, huge classic sign and original photos give it a nostalgic touch. The biblical phrases on signs and walls aren’t my cup of tea but it didn’t make my sandwich any less enjoyable!

4.5 out of 5 and that’s all because of that honey glazed donut. Literally & Consistently the best glaze donut I’ve had. That makes them better than Neil’s , Dunkin, Krispy Kreme (that couldn’t survive in Milford), Donut Inn, Whitney Donuts. I actually only eat Glaze or Vanilla frosted, with glaze being the go to if I want a donut. I found out about this place because of a co work bringing them in on Fridays. Literally the BEST BEST BEST. If I had the money I would assist them in franchising. Now… the coffee… watery. I’ve tried it twice and didn’t like it twice. I’ve had a breakfast sandwich that was premade in the warmer and it was nothing special. However those donuts are worth standing in line for. The ambience smells like fresh baked Goodness and the staff is overall nice.
