Golden Wok — Restaurant in Waterbury

If I could give this business more than 5 stars, I would. I'm originally from New York State, and I knew nothing about Connecticut or their food when I moved to Waterbury. This Chinese restaurant was one of the first places I've tried. And it is the only venue I will willingly drive across the state to, after moving farther away from Waterbury recently.

They have fair prices, their food is always hot, and they're quick. Their employees are polite and friendly. We always chat with one of the younger individuals there. They are personable and professional.

My boyfriend and I always appreciate their business, and were very glad to see them survive through the pandemic shutdown. I was personally going through withdrawal without their coconut shrimp..! Haha

The negative reviews I see sound ignorant. We have ordered from this establishment countless times. Both takeout and pickup.. As well as sit in when I had lived locally.. Never had a single issue.

Never had a problem with them. They may seem rude at times, but after working in the food/retail business, I can understand. Only once have I ever had an attitude. Great food! Quick service.

The owners and staff are very kind! Food is the same as before. It's still very good. Honestly, I feel like they have improved a TON! My only issue is that the garlic chicken doesn't taste the same. Idk what it is. I can't tell what they changed in the recipe. It is still delicious, but I just miss the old taste.

I honestly don't understand how this restaurant doesn't have anything but 5 stars. I came with my family around 8:30pm and ordered take-out. The family that owns the restaurant is extremely friendly. Their 11 year old son was keeping us company with very comical conversation which made us feel exceptionally welcome in their establishment. The speed of service rendered was extrodinary! We ordered Fried rice, lomaine and shrimp with broccoli which they had prepared and bagged in about 7 minutes from the time we had placed our order. We even had a laugh with their son when the power shut off for a brief moment. My family and I will most definitely be returning to this restaurant for our Chinese dinner nights. Keep up the...
