Doc's On The Fox — Restaurant in Waterford

Unbelievable they have continue to stay open we have never been like this place is great . You would think during this interesting time they would strive to do better. We visited via boat since they are on the Fox River on Sat. June 4th at 5:50pm figured we would have a bit of a wait. we had been told 25min wait which turned out to be far less. We had grabbed a seat at the bar and instantly was told our table was ready. The main room had plenty of open tables, but the upstairs outside was open but what a joke that is. the upstairs outside is so dysfunctional not even worth waiting to sit outside. We sat inside at our table and ordered sliders for our 18month old, 2 salads and 3 appetizers for 4 adults and 1 toddler. now we had been seated at around 6pm placed our order shortly after we sat down. i asked to speak with a manager and the owner came over and i explained at 7:15pm that we hadn't received our food after the server said 20min before it was coming out. The owner said its busy there is a fair in town, which i said its a church festival what does that have anything to do with how busy you are. It's a local church festival with very little outside the area people attending. The owner then said well i'm cooking we don't have enough staff let me check on your food and ill let you know how much longer. Of course he never came back out to let us know. We decided to just call it and i walked up to pay for the drinks that had been ordered and said we are leaving so no need to complete our order. We are walking out and the group of 6 people that were seated just before us had almost finished there dinner and said they had been waiting along time for there food as well. You've been in business long enough to get your establishment running way more effective and with better...

Food was good service bad. We came in on a Saturday expected it to be a little busy so we expected slightly delayed service due to volume of other customers but that wasn’t the case. Our server Julia was more concerned with playing on her phone and counting her tips at the bar than to help us. She only checked on us 2 times after delivering food, both times we asked for refills she never brought them. Never removed our plates 2 other waitresses offered after 10min. of us sitting with empty plates. Again our server was on her phone in full sight of anyone who was looking at the bar. At the end we sat 15 min. waiting for her to come around to give us our check when she did she said she’d be right back and we watched her walk away to go pour beers and play with her phone instead. Had to wait an additional 10 min. for her to come back. Other servers seem great but good luck if you get Julia she clearly doesn’t want to be there or help her customers. To bad we couldn’t give the other servers tips instead of her because they earned it by helping us and running their butts off for their own people where as Julia was busy with her phone. My first time here so we walked in and there were 2 hostess at there station as you walk in, we sat at the very well built bar and was given our drink order and a menu, I noticed they have those gadgets that buzz and light up if your waiting on a table and quite a few customers had them, I would say there wait time was 10 minutes on average, there is plenty of seating and my guess is room for atlesdt 25 customers at the large U shaped bar. We put our order for cod and it was a short wait even though it was crowded, it is very spacious so it was cramped. We go almost every Friday for fish and we will be back, the fish was lightly breaded with good flavor, fries were good as well as the tarter, the marbled rye bread was thick and fresh and the coleslaw was good. Service was top notch and atmosphere was comfortable, I can't imagine anyone not enjoying there meal here, the bartenders were very busy but were excellent at there job, were already looking for to the 35 minute drive in the near future, next time I am taking pictures...
