Went to the restaurant for the second time in about six months due to traveling to this area for work. Like many Chinese restaurant, there is the general menu for all customers and there is then a secret menu for Chinese speakers. I had forgotten about that from my first visit.
I started to order off the regular menu in Chinese. The person at the checkout desk then replied, in Chinese, âwould you like to see our Chinese menu?â
The âregularâ menu is the typical Chinese food available at every Chinese restaurant. The Chinese menu have several additional items that either have more traditional Chinese spices or ingredients that the average person may not find appealing. It was amazing to see how many of these items that they actually had on the Chinese menu.
I ended up ordering a special that was off either menu. As there were no other diners when I was there the chef was sitting by the counter as well. There was only 1 portion left so I ordered it. It was stir fried beef wide rice noodle. Not very typical in the typical restaurant but it was very good. There were plenty of beef, which was not typical either.
All in all, a very good Chinese restaurant, especially for those that want to try something a...
Read moreBeen coming here for years and absolutely love their food. I always tip and well because itâs the right thing to do, however, my servers always have a horrible attitude. Last night was by far the worst. I was with two of my kids and my waitress came back after a couple of minutes of delivering our soup and asked if we were done, when I said no she âughâ and snatched a plate off the table we werenât using. She continuously rolled her eyes when I asked questions while ordering. When we asked to order desert she hesitated as if she didnât want us to order it. She then proceeded to tell me not to order red velvet because itâs awful. I told her I like red velvet and that I would like to try it here. She once again, rolled her eyes and aggressively walked away. Needless to say, I donât know that I could continue to give them my hard earned money for what itâs supposed to be a nice break from the every night routine if this is how Iâm always going to be treated. The hostess and the cook (I believe they may be the owners) are great, always friendly and greet you with a smile. They really need to reconsider their staff or retrain them with...
Read moreWent for lunch. It's always too dark. Turn on the lights! They have hot tea which is really nice. I ordered the Yu Hsiang pork and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon filling is nice, but not nearly enough, and the wrapper was overcooked and hard. The corners were difficult to chew. It would be nice if the wrapper was thicker like the Hong Kong's wrapper. The hot and sour soup was weak. It was too corn-starchy, but they offer crunchies, which really improves the soup experience. I was served a tempura chicken strip with a spring roll. The spring roll was less than mid. The chicken strip didn't taste like anything. The Yu Hsiang pork was not good. There was far far too much sauce. There was a small amount of pork. It was overcooked or old. It had carrot, celery, onion, and mushrooms. It may have had a few water chestnuts. The sauce was overwhelming. The portion of rice was small, but I got another after a few requests. The server kept...
