My doctor told me that I needed medical equipment. and he would prepare the orders and send everything over to this establishment.
I waited a couple hours to go to make sure everything was sent over. I went at about 2pm on Friday March 5, 2021. I knocked on the door and was let in and invited to sit in a room to wait a few minutes. I heard a lady say " I don't have an appointment for her. she(me) will need to make an appointment."
About a minute later that same lady walks in the room and boy she let me have it in a condescending way. Her words were "This office you will have to make an appointment, who sent you, you will need to see if your insurance clears. I told her who sent me and she repeated the something all over again. I said well I came for nothing and got up to walk away to leave, while I was walking away she asked another question to which I answered when she was raising her voice at me. She never heard my answer.
I left a voice mail at my doctor office letting them know Please send my prescription somewhere other then this place.
I am very bothered by the way I was treated. I left and kept walking because I didn't want to escalate the situation. I didn't get names but the time I was there will narrow that down to who was working.
She never took the time to say let see what happen and we can get you all set up. She was to busy letting me know so she thought that its ran her way.
Please note this season we are in it is a very sensitive season with covid. It is not always about how your rules should go just maybe you can slow down and tend to things that are not in your schedule.

We decided to stop at Mercy One Waterloo Home Medical Equipment.. What a mistake! If you get any more unfriendly and less customer service; I really don’t know how it would be. I walked in and felt the chilliness right away. I asked if we could rent or buy a scooter. The gal who was in there immediately said where is your prescription and insurance card? I told her we didn’t have a prescription but we would like to pay out-of-pocket for the scooter. She said that was impossible in the most snottiest tone possible. I didn’t want to match her tone so I asked her politely if there was any way around it as we were willing to pay cash for the scooter. She said that was impossible again and no home medical place could do that. I don’t know how this person keeps her job if this is how you treat people!! I don’t know how you do business at all!! We ended up going to NuCara Home Medical at 1113 Ansborough Avenue in Waterloo. Their phone number is 319-287-8087. They know how to do customer service. They didn’t require any prescription or insurance card. They got us a scooter and smiled and talked so friendly to us and showed us how to use the scooter we were in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. Read moreTerrible service. Bought a CPAP from them through insurance back in the end of 2022, was told I Would be billed for the next six months to pay it off. They are very hit and miss with their building. They always send me three bills at a time all with different account numbers that I have to type in Online. I’m still getting bills for it today even though I’ve already paid more than six months, tried to get this straightened out through billing. All of the bills are on hold and they sent me more bills and now those are on hold, but Mercy One isn’t hearing back from them.
