Ravello is that genuine, marvellous Italian restaurant that honestly, truly serves house made pasta. What a revelation. There are lots of area Italian restaurants that have house made pasta on their menus, but no, can't be, once you have had the real.thing. Ravello's pasta is toothsome, properly eggy and absolutely fresh. So, a must, but the entire menu, and drinks too, are wonderful.
At our last visit a few weeks ago we started with grilled peppers, good with the focaccia and olive oil on the table. We also shared a very proper, and properly chilled,, bottle of rose. They are generous with the bread, a nice touch these days when places have curbed anything that seems extra.
I had steak, done just right, and switched out the potatoes for their amazing pasta. My husband loved his stuffed chicken breast over roasted potatoes. All entrees come well dressed.
Ravello is fine dining in terms of the cuisine, though less expensive. The room is casually chic, good dishes, silver and linen. Service is attentive, professional, low key in keeping with what the restaurant is all about, which is expert food and wine.
There's plenty of on street parking, and seems handicap accessible. There's plenty on the menu for vegetarians, and gluten free diners, too. Children would be well fed, though might just be spoiled for ordinary pasta, watch out!!It's dinner only, and there were patrons picking up their meal...
Read moreRavello has a classic Italian menu that is prepared masterfully. All of their pastas are freshly made. We didn't have their pizzas, but they look wonderful. The calamari was nice and clean with a bright marinara. But the appetizer show was won by the squash blossoms. They are not always on the menu, but if you can get them, they are great.
We enjoyed the soft shell crab picotta and the scallop scampi, both superb. The serving sizes were ideal, providing a satisfying meal without feeling like we needed to bring the small bits left home with us.
For dessert, the lemon ricotta zeppoles were something very new for me, and they may have changed me forever. These could have easily been the highlight of the meal. But everything was so consistently spot on that I can't take away from the other courses.
Don't be afraid to sit at the bar as the bartenders were very helpful with suggestions and overall very friendly. Cocktails and wine list were exceptional. The cocktail in my picture is an Empress Indigo gin martini with a blanco vermouth and a dash of orange bitters that the bartender recommended though it was not on the menu. The table service looked precise and efficient without any hint of trying to rush people out the door.
We will be going back very soon. Already looking at the menu thinking about what we'll get next.

Read moreRavello is a hidden gem in the city, serving up some of the most delicious pasta I've ever had. I've been there twice now, and I'm already planning my next visit. The pasta is made fresh to order, and the sauces are rich and flavorful.
On my first visit, I tried the Spaghetti Carbonara. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was creamy and delicious, with a hint of smokiness from the bacon. On my second visit, I tried the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and it was amazing. In addition to the pasta, the restaurant also has a great selection of appetizers and desserts. I highly recommend the Burrata Caprese appetizer, which features fresh burrata cheese, tomatoes, and basil. For dessert, the Tiramisu is a must-try. It's made with light and fluffy ladyfingers soaked in espresso and layered with a creamy mascarpone filling.
The service at Ravello is also excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they make sure that you have everything you need to enjoy your meal.
Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Italian dining experience. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the prices...
