Rose Garden is the COMFORT FOOD CAPITOL!!
As i walked in, the first thing I saw were PIES in the cooler. Lemon meringue, chocolate, maybe another. And an entire tray of chocolate eclairs.
Rose Garden has homestyle cooking. Although the chicken looked tempting, I selected an open faced meatloaf "sandwich" - totally using that term loosely! We started with cups of cream of chicken soup with dumplings which was warming on a windy 20° Wisconsin day. Rich and delicious, a bowl would have been a meal in itself! Then, pie!
A platter of meatloaf served over bread and mashed potatoes was covered in gravy. The meal was not too spicy, but flavorful, possibly a hint of terriaki? Rich, warming, and filling, I'm looking forward to my leftovers!!
My friend ordered the open faced turkey sandwich and said it was very good. Plenty to take home too.
As neither of us finished our lunches, we both took slices of lemon meringue pie to go. But first, we both grabbed a spoon and sampled it. Fantastic! Crispy crust. Rich lemon layer. And sweet, poofy meringue. PERFECT in flavor, texture, JUST PERFECT and extremely fresh!!
Wonderfully attentive, professional, friendly staff. Extremely efficient service. Super clean restaurant. Extensive menu. Tasty and satisfying entrées. And, fantastic pie.
Oh, forgot, REASONABLY priced. (Shhh! I'd like this place to be my...
Read moreThis place is a complete rip off. The staff was really quick with us, and not informative at all. They have NO IDEA what a special is and have NO BUSINESS charging the amount of money that they do. They charge you nearly 30 dollars for their special ribeye and prime rib, the ribeye was a QUARTER inch thick!! The LARGE 22 OZ Prime rib was the size of my hand and I have my mother's hands. The owners family was eating there at the same time and the whole staff was waiting on them instead of helping us the paying customer, as well the oldest daughter (or the owners sugar baby) being extremely rude and walking around the restaurant talking loudly on her phone. They also subbed out my daughter's children's spaghetti with fettuccine and raised the price to 16 dollars without telling us because they were out of spaghetti. Our meal in total was almost 100 dollars for 2 adults and a 4 year old. The place was cold as ice and way to dark.. Let me just repeat this one last time.... this place isn't worth 100 dollars for a dinner. 0/10 will never return and I beg you to never go here either. Message to the owner, I do not want a free dinner or money back. Get your house in order before...
Read moreIf you want heated up Sysco food, this is the place for you. If I could give a 0 rating, this would be it. Worst food I have had here in Watertown.
We took the family for dinner last night. I got seafood Alfredo, and it made me literally sick. It also tasted bad, 0/10. 1 son got a mac'n'cheese kids meal for $6, it was knock off Kraft worth about $1, 2/10. He also got a cheeseburger meal. The burger was 1/10th of an inch thick and well done, 0/10. Wife got veal parmesan, not bad, 6/10. Another son got a salmon meal, 4/10. When they asked how the food was, I said it wasn't good, and the server laughed about it. When we were leaving, what I presume is the manager came by to ask how the food was, and I said I thought it was making me sick and I told her what we thought of the food, and she said she would let the owner know.... No attempt at a remedy or apology. I 10/10 will NEVER go back or...
