Taverna Mediterraneo — Restaurant in Watertown

I am not rating this review on food. I’m only here to let other customers be aware of extra fee’s. I went in and purchased $150 in gift certificates and was charged $156. I asked to be explained why and after a nice conversation with the owner, he told me that he chose to add a 4% tax on all customers who pay with a credit card no matter how much they spend or what they order because they get charged a fee. I understand gas stations and nail salons do this but I never experienced this in a restaurant. I explained, in a customers viewpoint, some people would rather be charged an extra 4% on the menu item/drink (and not know it’s in the fee) than have a “card fee” on their bill. I explained that “some” people won’t return because of it. The owner disagreed and said he is then penalizing people who pay cash. I again explained that not many people carry cash these days, and he again disagreed. He was polite and took the fee off my purchase this one time. I just wanted people to be aware...

Terrible, just horrible. My mom, sister and I went here for dinner and we will never come back. We all ordered salads to eat. I asked when I ordered if I could take 2 of the items off the salad & replace it with cucumber. When I received it it was made with everything on it and cucumber added. The waitress took. It back & came back with a bowl of yellow romaine lettuce with black olives, Parmesan cheese and dressing in little cups. No cucumbers. So I just said whatever and ate it. The lettuce was described as mixed greens on the menu and the olives were supposed to be kalamata. When the waitress came back we told her that we weren’t pleased and she sent over the manager/owner? We explained about the issues and the olives and she argued with us that black olives are the same as kalamata. The salads just overall were not good and the customer service just made it worse. Definitely will not be coming...

What a fantastic find! We were just visiting town and had the most amazing lunch at this new restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home, thanks to the incredibly friendly service. We even got to meet the owners, who made us feel like family. You absolutely must order the Shrimps Mozambique—the flavor is so unique and delicious. I couldn't stop myself from sopping up every last bit of the sauce with their fresh bread! The food is a delightful fusion of cultures; you can really taste the authenticity from the owner's Portuguese background, perfectly complemented by his wife's Italian influences. We can't recommend this place enough! We will definitely be back for...
