Ilya Falafel Oasis — Restaurant in Watterson Park

I wanted to say this to the owner but i did not see him around for a longtime but man! This place is sinking, the food was way better before, this was my everyday launch spot for over 4 years now . But the actual team make me drive over 20 minutes for launch elsewhere. Specially the lady at the counter, i asked for a hot sauce couples weeks ago she said no its not included in your order(the money was on my hand to pay for the sauce) , i was shocked after that she said oooh thats fine i got you, who the hell told you i want you to get me i got myself. And is it too much asking her to serve people on the table instead of leaving the order on the counter, we come over here to eat a rest a little bit! But Honestly she made us hate this place for ever The cuban team was handling this places to another level they bring joy, illuminating the atmosphere, the guys in the kitchens served me the best food i have ever eaten everything tasted 10 times better than now , the ladies at the counter were very respectful funny and very serving compared to the lady in position now? Oooh my god i feel like she is...

As much as I wanted to eat here for a WHILE NOW... looks like I never will. Entering I was fumbling w my mask so long, a guy walks up in front of me. He headed straight for restroom.

Upon waiting, there was a couple ahead of me ordering. I stayed 6 ft away. Back turned watching the game they had on TV.

Almost ten minutes pass & he answers the phone. I ASSUMED I heard him asks if I needed help, so I turned around & failed to get eye contact. He began talking to the couple that ordered already.

ONE MINUTE LATER the guy walks out the restroom & straight to the cashier. He was happy to help & began taking his order.

I was LIVID & APPALLED. 30 seconds later I couldn't take it & exclaimed "NEXT TIME YOU MAY WANT TO ASK IF THE CUSTOMER WAITING NEEDED SOMETHING. Your service stucks!"

His rebuttal...I did buddy, But YOU didn't say anything.

My remark "So you talk to customers w they BACK TURNED?! FOH!"

I DO NOT recommend this place. Although it DID smell great...

I really wish I took a picture, but threw it away too quick bc it was soo bad and I’m really not a picky eater. I got a chicken gyro how it comes with extra tzatziki. It was so skimpy and had this super thin chicken jerky it seemed like and barely any veggies but had pickles for some reason and a mystery sauce that was like pinkish and it was drenched in it. I tried to eat some to not be wasteful and literally could not eat more than a couple bites. My boyfriend got a lamb gyro that the meat was better but they put the pickle and random sauce and it was just not good. We also ordered 2 large cokes and they gave us 2 large hot/flat cokes with no ice and didn’t say anything about not having ice at all. I went back in to ask if they had ice and she just said no. There was also either a really large horse fly or a cicada just chillin in there...
