Bliss Wine Lounge — Restaurant in Wauconda

I don't know what happened to this place since the pandemic, but it's really gone downhill. I used to come here with friends and my husband and we all loved Bliss...the people that worked there, the wine selections, the service, food, and music - all were great. Came here a few nights ago with a friend. The sidewalk and front stoop were covered in ice. No salt. The wine list of the day - which used to tell about each wine - no longer had any descriptions.

One employee in the whole place to serve the drinks and make and serve the food. He had the demeanor like we were inconveniencing him. We ordered two food items and they were served without any utensils or napkins. I had to go to the doorway of the kitchen where the employee was to ask him for both.

Prices on the food are also very high for what you get. A TINY bowl of artichoke dip with a small handful of crackers was $10.

I hope this was just an off night for Bliss. I'll give them...

You know growing up i loved watching the TV Show 'Cheers'. The theme song says something about 'a place where everyone knows your name'... well that describes Bliss Wine Lounge for sure. No, they aren't a big bar like in Cheers, they are a local wine bar with a wide variety of wines for every budget. And the owner, Alex takes the time to connect with each of the patrons and quick to make a recommendation of a wine you will like. It's not fancy but you will feel welcome for sure. They will have live music from time to time and if you join the Wine Club you will get to experience a variety of unique wines that you wont find at the big wine stores. My wife and I...

Warm cozy local wine bar. The friendliest staff, noteable nibbles, with a line up of at least 10 wines (which changes weekly) for sampling, sipping, and savoring by the glass. Outstanding local music 3 nights a week, Special events, etc. Worthy of becoming "facebook friends" with just to keep up on the constant stream of events. Bliss is the early bird when it comes to closing time, but I use that to my advantage by telling my friends that "I closed a bar...
