Mariscos Mi Pueblo — Restaurant in Waukegan

Having been a customer for years, before their fire, I’ve always enjoyed the authentic Mexican food that is prepared. Now that the facility has been completely rebuild, it is nicer looking and clean. The group of people that I brought in were able to select from a wide variety off the menu. The menu is not the typical or average menu one finds at every ordinary Mexican restaurant to satisfy the non -Hispanic clientele. This food seems to be the real deal. If you enjoy good Mexican cuisine then this is the place to visit. It is in a strip mall right on Grand Avenue with easy access. The room is large with banquet tables throughout because they cater to Hispanic weddings and other parties. This is the only down side to dining here. There is a stage and complete sound system that is played extremely loudly even when there is no catered party going on. It is so loud sometimes that you can’t hear anyone talking at your table. The lady on the phone seemed very nice, even though she only spoke Spanish. I speak minimal Spanish so I understood her questions. We got 3 steak nachos and asked for avocado. She said they had guacamole. I said ok, can I have 2 on the side. So I gave her my name and she said 15 mins. Hubby gets home and we are so disappointed. Not only did we get charged $4.99 for each side of guacamole, but it had loads of onions in it. Very unedible. There was not enough cheese or meat in the nachos. The meat was seasoned well, but if you have tons of chips leftover, and nothing on them, there is no point of eating it. Think the entire order was over $50! Definitely not...

We go to the place to see Mercedes Castro but waiters Jason very bad actitud to my husband and my self she call liar two times to my husband even we are vip don’t bring food to our table and when my husband ask why she say they Serv in the order people come in but we are early was only four people before us when owner say being the food to our table the food was very bad it’s suppose to be shrimp cocteik but was only cold water just 4 to 5 shrimp cold no flavor almost empty the glass just cucumber and onion and jalapeño almost no avocado and no Drinks either,very bad service we are never go back and don’t recommend to go,very frustrated.
