I've been coming to this location for many years and have been impressed every time. The interior of Rocky Rococo is designed like a classic pizzeria with an Italian parody and a collection of satirical movie posters "starring" a fictional character of the name Rocky Rococo, adapted from the Beatles song Rocky Raccoon and Peter Lorre in the 1941 film, The Maltese Falcon. Aside from the dining experience, the food itself is what sets this restaurant apart from other competitors. Rocky Rococo offers a fresh salad bar, pasta, and of course, pan style pizza. On any day Rocky Rococo offers to-go pizza sold by the slice. You can either get a regular slice, a super slice or a full pan pizza which must be requested ahead of time. The super slice is roughly twice as big as the regular slice and doesn't cost much more. Since this is mainly to-go pizza, you are unable to add toppings of your choice. There are different daily specials called super slice of the day which changes up the toppings and are only offered on the super slice option. An example of their slice of the day would be the Rocky Chicago style with crushed tomato on top and large sausage. My personal favorite slice of the day would have to be the Motherload, with smoked cheese crust topped with sausage. To say that Rocky Rococo is good, is simply an understatement. Rocky Rococo gets my seal...
Read moreRocky's Rocco's Pizza is one of my favorite pizza places. It has been since I was in high school back in Madison. The very first Rocky's was founded in Madison in the early 70's.
Well, I have lived in Waukesha for a year now. I was talking to a friend of mine about finding a good grocery store and he suggested a grocery store in this plaza. And, there it was, Rocky's. Somehow I missed this place for the past year because I believe Rocky's is located in Pewaukee, not Waukesha. So, not on my radar here in Waukesha.
Basically the same great pizza that I have come to know and love over the years. That was a comfort to me. The salad bar is good. A lot of fixings for the salad are available.
The dining area is large with plenty of seating. Although, it looks like a lot of people order takeout pizza here.
The only thing I find irritating is that the people who take my orders do not seem to be familiar with the cash register. This has happened to me every time that I have come to this Rocky's. The cashiers know the menu well. So, I am assuming that these cashiers are new at the job. There has been a help wanted sign in the window every time I have gone to this Rocky's. I am hoping that their training on the machines will be better.
I am happy to be reunited with an old friend. Rocky's has the best...
Read moreSEE UPDATE BELOW! Wow did they miss the mark last night. Wife and I ordered a Large Motherlode. Pretty simple order, and I asked if they could do half ingredients and the guy said sure! Wife hates onions and Rockys has great onions and alot! The order was simple... Sausage and Pepperoni on the whole pizza with Onions and Roma Tomatoes on half. The girl at the counter was not very polite or happy to be working. Never confirmed my order not opened the box. So I did. It looked delicious to me (and was delicious). But got home and there were tons of Onions which I love but unfortunately on the entire pizza. Wife couldn't eat it. Roma tomatoes on only half as requested so I know the guy heard me well. Let down for sure.. Ate some and went to bed. Then it got worse lol... Woke up this morning and wife messaged me from work.. "Hey was there even pepperoni on that pizza"... Just checked. Nope!! Geeze... You order and pay good money for a Rocky's Pizza... You should get what you ask for. Still love Rocky's Pizza but can't rate you high this time. Failed me (or more so my wife which bothers me even more) UPDATE: OWNER AND MANAGER WANT TO MAKE SURE ALL CUSTOMERS ARE SATISFIED AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. BOTH PIZZAS WERE FANTASTIC. WENT IN LAST NIGHT AND THE STAFF WORKING WERE FANTASTIC AS WELL....
